Unai needs a haircut

Is there a reason Martinez hasn’t played a minute yet unless I missed it

I managed to eventually watch it in AVTV. Kept trying different things as I had the initial problem as everyone else.

We can't play from the back very well. Bizot had great distribution but players looked immediately under pressure (heavy pressing tbf).

We also keep looking unfit/soft.

Maalen and Kamara looked ok. Watkins too. I'm not sure he is replqceable if he goes....

I  was impressed with Jimoh-Aloba last night, showed loads of pace, held up play well and his movement was really good. Shame his touch was a bit heavy for the last chance and took him too wide but there's a very good striker in there with some coaching.

Yesterday was the only match he was available for. You might have missed that he likely wants to go to Man U too. I’d be surprised if he’s still a Villa player in September.

He's not a striker, he's an attacking midfielder.

We'll win again, don't know where, don't know when, but I know we'll win again some autumn day.

... which is a big part of why he needs coaching, I think he'll end up as a striker and that's clearly where he played last night.

I can't speak for last night as I've only seen brief highlights but he's played midfield whenever I've seen him. I'd be surprised if he ended up as a striker personally.

So we might be holding him back in anticipation of a move
Good job we already got his replacement in Bizot

If Bizot were a replacement for Emi that’d be a huge gamble.

I wouldn't necessarily read too much into it. He was one of four subs who didn't get on the pitch, Mcginn being another one of them.

I’m not reading anything into him not playing. Just think all the noise, particularly from Argentina, suggests he’d like the Man U move. I think we’d be ok with that, as long as we get a decent fee. It’s not based on anything concrete, just a feeling.
