It's not the tiredness that concerns me it was the sloppy passing

Well then it probably is the tiredness that concerns you.
What?

What?

The sloppy passing is likely directly influenced by fatigue.

I think that is the mental tiredness playing a part.

Exactly.

Douglas Luiz isn't turning in poor performances because he's suddenly shit or badly trained. He's fucked.

The only thing for me with dougie is he had a two game ban so had a breather and has been really shit since he came back. Im not sure it is all tiredness with him. I think part of it is a run of poor form too

Bailey?

Digne is also starting to look leggy aswell which isn't a surprise given Moreno's only been available for about two months of this selection so we haven't done as much rotation as expected in that position.

It's purely mental.

Jaffa cakes, skittles, Pre, Beta Alanine, maybe not all the above, although your face twitching can be kinda fun, will all help a sore and battered body embrace the "1 more" mindset. The body can take a lot of punishment in sport. But only if the mind is willing.

What we're doing is novel for a lot of these players. Looking in two directions, this deep into the season, where pressure is building as margins for error increase. They've not done it before.

Remember when you were learning to drive and you'd sweat like a mother fucker, not because you were doing anything physically strenuous, but because you were doing something out your comfort zone. Like a low achiever at work that you're supervising shitting the bed over something trivial. It's the same; mentally exhausting. McGinn trying a Hollywood outside his skill set, when a 5 yard pass to Bailey makes more sense. That's between the ears, they break. Penalty.

Emi Martinez, Yuri Tielemans have medals in the cabinet. That exprience brings a calmness, which we need back in the XI desperately. They don't sweat when they drive anymore than you; been here done it, muscle memory, barely have to think. Easy. That's what we have to get through now. And we will.

Physical and sporting fatigue has been spoken about for donkey's years, by professional athletes in countless sports, coaches, physios etc. That a few on the internet don't believe in it as they think they know better than those that earn a living from knowing about it is bizarre.

The usual over-reaction from many. This team, this manager, are delivering our best season for a long long time. It’s really simple - we are just out of gas. If you want to find fault in that, knock yourself out.

We will finish 4th and that far outweighs my expectations last August. There is so much to look forward too.

What would you suggest I use?  Laughing or cyanide?

A two game ban where he played two European ties in the intervening weeks. That’s not a break of any significance, and the midfield is massively overstretched.

One game a week is a break compared to playing two?

What about mcginn bailey and diaby and co? These guys have had virtually no break so i disagree with you here paul.

I think this is the best explanation of what were seeing.  Players operating at their peak for way longer than they ever have done - with no backup for a bad day.

Each and every one of them has done us proud.  If it's a stretch too far then so be it - what they have achieved with so few players is amazing.

Insipid. Olsen Motm nothing else to say it was so indescript. Onwards to Thursday…
….

I wanted to recognise Olsen’s contribution today, and this comment came up very early. He may not be playing again if Emi is back for Thursday, and we all hope he is, so thanks, Robin.

Other than that, I’m in the, put ice on everybody’s legs and feed them on spinach and spagbol whatever it takes, camp.

No I understand that, my point is it’s not a break of any significance or enough to properly resolve fatigue. Diaby has played less and the other two look exhausted too (one of which had a 3 game ban).

Yeah its been abit annoying that we have rarely had both digne and moreno available for large parts of the season as each one seems to be getting injuted (more moreno)

Bailey looks finished to me. Why he hasnt used kellyman more and taken bailey off only unai knows.  Poor guys playing witha  knee strap sums in all up.

I think Dougie's problem is him and McGinn as a double pivot doesn't work.  It didn't work under Deano, Gerrard and now Unai.
