I think Mateta would be a bit mad to come to us, from the run of his career to the bench wouldn't be a good move.

No chance getting Oscar Bobb. I reckon Pep would rather Alvarez move on before letting Bobb go.

Yep, he's the most highly rated kid at Man City, I'd be amazed if they let him leave. He's a top prospect though, loads of the Norwegians at work are very excited about how good he is and how good their national team is becoming.

I'd rather blood our own Bobbs.

Mateta linked, it's a bit meh from me.

I would absolutely love him at Villa.
Top player but I don't think we would get him.

I'd assume we're after both with Duran off and Diaby gone.
Yeah, same.  I reckon we're using the Diaby cash to pay for Felix and the Duran money to pay for Beier, something like that.  Excellent bit of wheeling & dealing on our part IMO.
hypothetical hypothecation.

If how he finished the season is anything to go by, he would be genuine competition for Watkins but could probably play alongside him as well.

sky sports saying we are in Anwar El Ghazi

didn't he play for villa some years  ago ?

Stick him on penalties!

why ?
Because he's fucking brilliant at them.  One of the best pen takers I've seen at Villa.

oh sounds promising . thanks for replys
I've now realised this is not Villa transfer news because this is someone asking on behalf of Cardiff City.
I initially was excited to learn Villa were linked with El Ghazi!
As Emery would make him even better ! Tbf Dean Smith did that!
I have fond memories of this player who is a wide forward uses both feet and takes a super penalty.
He actually is Premier League Proven quality so would be a promising signing for a Championship club.
When he was at Villa he advanced his game season on season and was actually in the Dutch national squad as he became player of international pedigree or was getting there !

To Cardiff City fan -you'll enjoy him!l he's too good for the Championship!

oops sorry for confusion

i just pop over from time to time especially when there's some sort of link to a player like when callum chambers signed for us a few weeks ago

Hoffenheim qualified for the Europa League, but interestingly they lost more games than they won which must be unusual for a team getting into Europe on the back of its league position. Mind you, nearly half of the Bundesliga teams have qualified for Europe for the forthcoming season.
Last season St Mirren won 13, lost 17 and qualified for the conference league second qualifying round. The season before Hibs won 15 and lost 16 to earn the right to be hammered by the Villa.

Why do Chambers and Diaby threads remain ?
Yet Douglas Luiz thread who was here longer does not remain on main service board.
There needs to be a protocols time frame for when a player thread gets moved.

Why do you keep harrassing the moderators? They volunteer, they're not paid, do you stop to think how they feel with you sniping all the time? It's little more than bullying etc...

Yeah, a season on loan in the Championship then 2-and-a-bit seasons in the Premier League.  Got shifted out on loan to Everton.  That move didn't really work for anyone.  Then has had a bit of trouble since at PSV then Mainz 05 (the latter because of some comments he'd made about Gaza, dunno what the situation as PSV was).

Decent winger.  Great penalty taker, but a bit inconsistent for the Premier League.  I reckon he'd still do a job in the Championship, though.  Interesting couple of signings if you do get him, both players who you could imagine playing at a lower-ranked Premier League team IMO - pretty strong signings for Championship level :)
