€30m for a Beier. And I thought London prices were expensive for ale.

That's his release clause.

Absolute scenes if we can sell Duran to West Ham for more than we can buy a player who looks more like an Ollie back up, while making a profit.

If we can make that happen, I will be stunned. Delighted, and stunned :-)

Beier looks a top player, if this goes ahead he'll be very good cover/competition for Ollie. Given we're pretty much guaranteed to be playing 50+ games this season we can definitely give him loads of gametime even with Ollie being our first choice.

He can cover all across the front line too, so even more chance to play.

I wonder how good Watkins could be if he did actually get a break every now and then. We're lucky he stays fit but we really shouldn't have to be relying on him so much.

According to Sky Germany, we've put in a bid for Maximilan Beier of Hoffenheim.

I've never seen him play but apparently he's highly rated.  You'd assume that's Duran's replacement.

Is Sky Germany as reliable as Sky Italy?

I'd use the '80's cars' rule of thumb here and say much, much more so.

*I have no idea.

I like the look of  Barrenechea.   looks a good player

I’m worried we have dropped our standards, he looks like Tevez’s ugly son.

He will look ok If he changes his fringe .

Hopefully he doesn't suffer from the confidence issues he had when he was competing with Ings for a place in the team!

So do you reckon we are definitely trying to buy Beier and then hold out for Felix on loan knowing Atletico have got to get rid one way or another?

I'd assume we're after both with Duran off and Diaby gone.

Yeah, same.  I reckon we're using the Diaby cash to pay for Felix and the Duran money to pay for Beier, something like that.  Excellent bit of wheeling & dealing on our part IMO.

We need options if we want to win everything.

Watkins will need a rest too, he'll be playing for England, as well as for us in 4 competitions. And we need subs to change matches.

We are going for it by the looks of things; what a time to be a Villa fan.
