I wonder how good Watkins could be if he did actually get a break every now and then. We're lucky he stays fit but we really shouldn't have to be relying on him so much.

Hopefully he doesn't suffer from the confidence issues he had when he was competing with Ings for a place in the team!

You'd hope it's a different situation and he knows he's not actually competing with the other striker. Not that he should have been competing with Ings, but he's certainly one of the best in the league now, so there should be no question about his place. And if the new guy happens to be so good he is challenging Watkins then tough tiddy, it's good for us.

I'd imagine Ollie is in a totally different headspace now. He's England's best centre forward at present (until Kane recovers from whatever the fuck that was in the Euros), he's Champions League player, one of the best in the league. A young up and coming understudy won't phase him.

Grand Ole Danny Ings shouldn't have fazed him, but he did.

Emery kicked Ings out first chance he got, so it was more Gerrard, I assume, that wasn't managing Watkins correctly.

I don't know how good Beier is, as I haven't watched Hoffenheim as I guess most of us won't have, but he has a good young age profile and a decent scoring record last season.

Hoffenheim qualified for the Europa League, but interestingly they lost more games than they won which must be unusual for a team getting into Europe on the back of its league position. Mind you, nearly half of the Bundesliga teams have qualified for Europe for the forthcoming season.

Do you want rid of Watkins?

Aston Villa are not negotiating for Max Beier, he’s currently not part of Villa plans for this summer.

João Félix remains Unai Emery’s dream target.

Well that didn’t last long did it

If we had signed Max Beier would have opened up the discussion regards all those who keep saying Bundesliga players not working out in the Prem. Even though Haaland proves they do !

It does very much seem Duran out Felix In.

Like to know the fee here.
He was just one of those youngsters signed to sell on I guess.
I think we'll see a lot of that and bigger fees too as we have already witnessed with Kellyman for nearly 20m who has very little prem experience!

According to Sky Germany, we've put in a bid for Maximilan Beier of Hoffenheim.

I've never seen him play but apparently he's highly rated.  You'd assume that's Duran's replacement.

Is Sky Germany as reliable as Sky Italy?
Sky England is also hit and miss.
Seemingly  transfer news gets reported from third parties and used by these outlets like sky England or talk sport.

Then it gets reported it's Sky
Unless it's an exclusive by Sky
As Sky Germany and Sky Italy are no worse than Sky Sports News England.
That's what's happening here.

Respectfully, he will be a good player for that level. Scored some nice goals, works quite hard and never caused us any problems. I hope you get him.
