It’s not going to work though is it? Our imperative for selling Doug, if there is one, is either we need to make a big sale to cover a PSR gap, or Doug is keen to leave, or a combination of both. Either way that means the cash is absolutely critical to us, especially giving the impending June cut off. I can’t see why we’d entertain any sale that doesn’t resolve any existing PSR issue, what would be the point? And if there’s a release clause, I still don’t see any basis for us settling for less than that amount, unless it’s huge which I doubt.

Obviously a new manager is inheriting an entire team so maybe it's not that odd that they'd buy new players off their own back, and obviously most clubs have some kind of director of football or whatever working behind the scenes anyway.

It would be here, but the Italian tradition is for coaches, not managers.

It looks like Olise is off to Chelsea, I know we were heavily linked a couple of weeks ago, but I'm guessing we haven't got the headroom for that sort of purchase anyway.  Just annoying that Chelsea have!
