Whoever comes in needs to be promising enough to replace Ollie. Tammy would never be that. Archer has no future here. He's probably had his BMH key fob deactivted.

How good could he be given some time under Emerys tutelage?

Indeed. He was better than Ollie throughout his career til Ollie met Unai.

Yeh, agree with that, but I think a lot will depend on the Duran outcome.
He goes and I think we’re looking at two forwards, as, unfortunately, Archer does seem surplus.
Tammy could potentially be one of those, as he’s ready made, so to speak.
I don’t think Unai would want two promising players, so he’d fit the bill in that regard.
It would also depend on whether Tammy would come to be second fiddle to Ollie and what Roma would expect. I certainly wouldn’t break the bank for him.
Personally, I don’t think he’d be on our radar now.

I think Tammy is ok, but Ollie’s underlying attributes meant Unai could do what he has done with him. I’ve got a feeling Tammy has reached his ceiling- decent enough, but my personal view is he doesn’t have the potential to reach what Ollie has achieved.

Tammy did a job at the time we needed him.
We have moved on and we need to be looking at next level, not a player who has just missed a whole season with an horrendous injury.

Next season is far too important for those type of gambles ( unless he is available for no more than £10m in which case, bring it on).

We need a striker that is young, talented and raw enough to be moulded by Unai into a ready replacement for Ollie in 2-3 years, a striker like...well Duran or Archer for example.

Duran stays, and I hope he does, we might look to bring in one to replace Archer, who unfortunately might be moved on.

I think that's part of the issue with Duran. He's young and talented, but he's never going to do what Ollie does. He's quick and strong with a good shot, but he's very much an out-and-out striker. It's a completely different way of playing. That's not to say he's not worth perservering with (assuming he wants to stay) but he'll never be a like-for-like replacement.

Tammy would be a good shout if Duran does go and if the price is sensible.
However, i’m hoping we get a really top player in that can play across the front line this summer as a replacement for Zaniolo and Coutinho and Tammy is not that player.

I've said this before, but nobody would want Abraham if he hadn't done well for us in the Championship. He'll be too expensive and not good enough.

I'm not sure about that. He's scored goals at every level. I dont think every fan in favour is just taking his stint with us as a reason for thinking he could do a job.

He hasn't done all that spectacularly for Roma. He's done fine, not spectacularly.

And you could say the same for his time in Chelsea's first team.

I like him but if he hadn't had that season for us 5 years ago, in the division below, we wouldn't look twice at him.

It wouldn’t be a transfer thread if we didn’t have a chat about our Tammy 😃
