I don't think so, it's just the low back lift minimal follow through technique he's developed that creates a punch effect that causes the ball to wobble in its flight.

Some pundit was saying how unique the goal was, he'd seen including Rogers, Ronaldo etc do it from free kicks but he'd never seen it done in open play. Never.

A little further out but almost identical to his goal against Spurs so certainly no fluke.

They're quite open about the judging process. Nobody has to 'admit' anything.

True but it's the Guardian, football's not really their thing. I imagine most of the journalists only got into 'footie' after the Euros in 96 or 2004.

Seems pretty crazy to think someone could be regarded as one of the best players in the world just because he has been really brilliant previously and recently.
