I don't think so, it's just the low back lift minimal follow through technique he's developed that creates a punch effect that causes the ball to wobble in its flight.

Some pundit was saying how unique the goal was, he'd seen including Rogers, Ronaldo etc do it from free kicks but he'd never seen it done in open play. Never.

A little further out but almost identical to his goal against Spurs so certainly no fluke.
The power and the dip was excellent

Rogers did very similar against Spurs, with the same late dip.

Not among places 41 to 100 in the Graun's world top 100.

Expect him to be in the top 40 as revealed tomorrow.

What a signing.

SJM should really be in that list somewhere, as should Kamara and Tielemanns.

I like how they admit Foden is in it because he scored some four goals in the run-up to the selection.

Most overrated player in the league (I know I’m an outlier on this matter).

They're quite open about the judging process. Nobody has to 'admit' anything.

I don’t know, I’d like a proper explanation for how Antony has made the list. We deserve that at least, surely?

True but it's the Guardian, football's not really their thing. I imagine most of the journalists only got into 'footie' after the Euros in 96 or 2004.

Seems pretty crazy to think someone could be regarded as one of the best players in the world just because he has been really brilliant previously and recently.

Heresy... David Lacey was a legend.

If by legend you mean could bore the pants off anybody awake, then I concur. Sid Lowe is where they begin and end, the rest, shite.

Quite like Sid Lowe, to be fair.

Lacey was anything but boring, however!
