They are, but then so is all football wages in the top leagues and they have been for many a year. But we could just sell him on and not compete with the other teams.

I think it's almost certain we'll be selling him if he has a decent season, just for a bigger fee than we would otherwise have got.  I used to think qualifying for the CL would make a difference, but it doesn't (Isak joining Liverpool for example).  Let's hope we win something while he's here.

Fantastic news. In his first season, I said we should be looking to build the team around him long-term. He's a special talent.

It's well worth the money to keep him at the club, hopefully for years to come.
