I think he has a sa accusation unresolved ..

He looks and sounds like a movie baddie, but if we're going for players named after the place in which they were conceived, I'd rather him than Brooklyn Beckham.

Well if we're going off names, his mate Acosta Alexis sounds like a more likely perpetrator.

Gonzalo Montiel, the Argentine footballer who achieved remarkable success in the 2022-23 season, finds himself embroiled in a serious legal matter.

Reports from Spanish nationwide daily sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo suggest that Montiel has been charged with sexual abuse, specifically a crime involving multiple perpetrators.

The charge stems from an incident that allegedly occurred on January 1, 2019, in Argentina, as reported by the victim. However, during his testimony, the Sevilla defender attempted to distance himself from the accusations, pointing the finger at one of his friends, Acosta Alexis, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Regarding the above, I can't see Villa making a move on Gonzalo Montiel until judgement is decided. From what I've just read from Argentina, the court case, or at least the part concerning Montiel was in June and he is waiting on the verdict.

Qatar? That's like going to Birmingham, thinking you're going to sign for Aston Villa and ending up at the Sty.

Could we offer them Bailey instead?

Get money back on Coutinho would be more than happy…if they could take Traore for what we paid too would be great

Nah, keep Phil and get Bert out the door. If some mugs want to pay 5 or 10m for him, even better.

I can’t make my mind up on Coutinho. On the one hand he’s a massive talent, even in this excellent squad we have he’s still potentially our best player but on the other hand we’ve had him 18 months, he’s only shown glimpses of that talent, he’s now 31 and he seems to get injured easily.

There are other players I'd ship out before I'd let Coutinho go, but there's not likely to be lots of offers coming in for some of them, so I suppose if financially speaking we have to sell, we sell the ones people want to buy.

we’ve signed Diaby so we need to take a hair cut on one of Coutinho, Bailey or Traore. Promote Jason Philogene.

Coutinho is a simple one for me, it's just whether he can stay fit. If he can stay fit, he's class and can be huge for us. If he's out more than he's available though, we would have to move him on.

Bailey and Traore can both go, just need buyers.

The thing with Coutinho, is he's going to be no less valuable to a Saudi team in January, but he could prove very valuable to us until then, so I'd keep him. UNLESS Unai has decided he doesn't need him (which would be surprising given his last two performances in pre season).  If it doesn't work out for him up to Xmas, then I'm pretty sure we'd get exactly the same for him from a Saudi club in january, unless he's injured.

I agree.  A Saudi team will be signing the name Coutinho rather the player so it makes no difference whether it is now or January.
Unless we need to lose the wages he better off with us as an option.

Quite. People are quite blasé about Coutinho. But he is still massively talented. The question is whether he can stay fit - if he can he’s a huge asset.
