I wondered why the likes of Hause, Coutinho, Davis and Sanson weren't at training when they went back on Saturday, given they are all fit and had no international football?  Have they been told not to bother?

I assumed they were just doing it in groups that day. If they were all being tested and monitored and what not, it's easier to do in small groups. Maybe they film crew were just there for one group.

Yes, quite likely, but they don't appear to be there today either.  Not that I'm stalking anyone of course!

Oh, I haven't seen any of today's stuff. I wouldn't think they'd just tell people not to show up, would they? Has Durán been seen yet? He was supposed to be on his way back in that photo he posted last week.

Yeah, he was pictured back at the club.

Torres, Tielemans, Kessie, Torres and Johnson would represent a damn good window.

With all the will in the world were not getting all of them!   Maybe 3 of 5 you mention.  And would still be good

Diaby is like Torres I think, unattainable probably 12 months ago but with him still at his present club and us having european football to offer potential signings I don't think it's hugely unrealistic.

He's also ideal for what we seek, plays out wide but think he can play central aswell. 15 goals in Bundesliga and europe last season (I appreciate I was saying all this about Bailey two summers ago!).

From what I've seen, I very much like the cut of his jib. Fast, strong, skillful and intelligent; he knows when to release the ball which is really important for any striker/attacker.

We’ve already got 2 out of the 5 Steve mentions, if they were the main targets (obviously might not be), I’d be a bit disappointed to only get one more.

Apologises - thought Kessie was a forward player, and was thinking 1 of 3 in that position.  I cant see us signing Torres mk2 and Johnson

Interesting reading the goings on at Barca - they want Ferran Torres out and are putting the squeeze on him. He wants to stay but the Barca president was quoted as saying 'we're not an NGO' and they need to trim the squad especially as they want to bring in a couple of new faces. I think he's back either today or tomorrow from his football academy and likely to put an end to his media blackout.

He sounds a very troubled player that never produced it at Barca and won't be given a second chance. If Unai really does want him he may be facing his greatest challenge yet.

I’d be pretty pissed off if I were him. Barca are like toddlers with new toys.

Why, Paul? Barca paid €55m for last year and he's hardly pulled up any trees. There are plenty that want to offload Bailey if we can bring in a better replacement. My concern is Ferran's head may not be in the right place should he be 'forced' to join us. It's not an ideal situation for us or the player.

Well I have a strong suspicion Barca probably haven’t created the environment they sold to him, might be wrong but they seem a bit obsessed with the shiny new toy.

Bailey is a different point, he might have been a bit stop start but generally we look more effective with him around. I’m still hopeful he can become more consistent.

That’s the thing that concerns me too, why go after a player that doesn’t want to leave? Be similar to Ireland in a way.

To put a more positive spin on it, it might do wonders for the player to feel like he's genuinely wanted by Emery. It might not have been in his plans to leave Barca so soon, but if he's basically been told he's not part of the plans there, and we're telling him he's a big part of our big plans, it might help with the move. And I think we showed interest in him before it was basically public knowledge that they don't want to keep him, which would show that we wanted him anyway, he's not just an impulse buy because we saw him in the shop window.
