You should have called the club up as they advised on the website , there were hundreds available in the Doug Ellis upper

I said I'm happy to play that way if we get results. Everyone was bored in the first half it was awful and the atmosphere was the same

IMHO, Watkins put in a fine performance but Bailey is currently not cutting the mustard.

Little Emi is a gem. A pain in the arse for any opposition. After years of sideways/backward/risk free passing we now have a player who is:

1) Always hungry for the ball.
2) Risk taker
3) Forward thinking
4) Terrier like
5) Box to box
6) Constantly in referees ear
7) Good goal ratio
8) Team player
9) Loves the shirt

Yes, on occasion he can be knocked off the ball too easy and on occasion there is a stray pass. A risk and reward player. These are areas I am sure our coaching team are working on. But the pros well outweigh the cons.

Every team needs a small Emi and I am glad we have one.

I think you make some good points about little Emi

Players that are progressive and like to move the ball forward taking a few risks will always give the ball away more times than cautious steady players
That’s why I never take much notice of midfield player stats, you can see for yourself a dangerous player everything they do doesn’t come off but when it does it produces chances and goals

Having said all that, it wasn’t one of his better games yesterday but he was still effective at times
I agree with all this, i like him, frustrating when he loose the ball but - yes, thats because he is trying to get hold of it in very tight situations to make things happen like he did when playing through Watkins in first half (29 min ish in) and Watkins should have scored and given the goal to Emi 2.

Boring first half, terrible atmosphere.
Second half much better, I'm not enjoying the football at all but this manager has his ways and we are getting results so long may it continue.

There were loads of empty seats yesterday all around the stadium. I've said this before you just simply do not see empty seats in 95% of premiership grounds like you do at Villa Park when it's not a 'big team' season ticket holders not turning up is still counted on the attendance but it's quite interesting

Where were the 28,000 in the upper away blocks yesterday? desperate for a slice of the action. I thought they'd be banging the ticket office doors down to get one of the golden tickets

I hope no one responds to this trolling shite
You did.

The emphasis shouldn’t be on Wilma s pointless moaning but on the clubs inability to sell returned tickets from Bournemouth. It seems several posters have tried to get additional tickets last minute and the TO for whatever reason had the sold out signs up despite that not being the case. If there’s a problem it seems to me it’s the TO and not the match going fan. There also seems to be an issue with selling returned STs as I think amfy was saying a day or so ago. It’s just a feeling and maybe unfounded but I don’t think the TO is as good as it was in the Lerner era.

It did feel like the club made it more difficult to buy in these blocks and kept it pretty quiet too. Not being able to buy online a big factor.

They don’t sell returned STs until all the other tickets have been sold. It appears that those that are available you have to phone in for and they still may not be open to everyone.
It seems a bit of a mess.

I don’t get some negative posts about Buendia. Yesterday he tore them to shreds in the first 20 mins when we should have scored 2/3 more than we did. Gary O’Neill realised that and put a man on him for the rest of the half and Emi found it difficult to cope with that however got the better of his marker several times in the second half. It’s all part of his development from good to great and hopefully he will become great by dealing with close attention.

It could be that software that prohibits home fans from buying in away block is not easily modifiable to allow online purchase and it would take more than a few days to make that change even if the provider has the capacity to do so. So the obvious route is phone sales and fans generally do not do that these days?

All we heard all week was "Oooh they nearly beat Arsenal" "They beat Liverpool you know" or "Villa might struggle against them" - I thought they were a poor side and we weren't flattered by the score but they were. Emery is on to something here, some really nice football at times and that last ten minutes was like the Alamo. Nice to see them running around like two-year olds in the last few minutes too. I think Bournemouth will go for sure.

I was surprised at how poor Bournemouth were to be honest. That's taking nothing away from us though but other than that Billing free kick, it really was comfortable.

I thought the Solanke effort when Konsa let him clean through probably would have ended up with a goal from a better player. The save from the free kick was just a goalie at the top of his game doing his job as we know he can.

The VAR/Handball never even got a mention during MOTD analysis.

I'm a better football tipster than I am a horse racing one.

They're in the bottom three for a reason, and have won the grand total of 3 games in their last 17. They've drawn 3 as well, and lost the rest. We've got to get after teams like this from the start and hand out a lesson. Of course the result is all important, but I'd like to see a good, attacking performance for a change. 3-0.
