Not quite quickly enough. I read 'bin dippers' on here several times a week.

Indeed, i will admit as a 12 year old in the mid 80s standing at the back of the holte i joined in and sang that ‘in the Liverpool slums’ song, not understanding what i was singing. The idea that grown adults can sing that song now or use the bin dipper phrase on here, the mind boggles to be honest with you, i find it really offensive.

Anyway, in terms of the game, a cliche but we need a good start and to not let them build up a head of steam, i wouldn’t play both Coutinho and Beundia for this and wouldn’t start with Bailey either.

Think i would go with

                                Matinez

Cash.                Konsa.        Mings.      Moreno

                   Luiz.                   Kamara

McGinn.                                             Ramsey

                                Coutinho

                                 Watkins

3-1 Villa, Watkins and Coutinhio for us, they get a goal back to make it nervy, but Duran coming on to tie it up late on.

Fancy Everton for this. Dyche will get their bunch of giant thugs smashing into us and the ref will let them get away with everything.

We're a better team than them, but it won't be a proper football match.

Everton are shite at scoring goals, so an edgy 0-1 to Villa for me. Bailey with the goal.

Everton have beaten both Arsenal & Leeds 1-0 at home recently. This will be tough, a draw at best.
I think a glance at the League table will tell you that a lot of teams have beaten Leeds.

Back in the day VillaTalk used to be the worst for it. Notlob, Evernot, Liverp_lop (sometimes just Pl _op). Hilarious stuff.

Edited to reflect that the word filter is nearly doing its job!

You are far too young and totally unqualified to use the phrase “back in the day”.

I'm 45! As an English Literature graduate, though, I will concede that I'm totally unqualified for anything.
45? A mere child you are in footy fan parlance. Everything that has happened or more appropriately not happened to Villa in your lifetime is a short passing phase in my mind :D

Hopefully they’ll have taken note of Emery’s criticism last week and we’ll see a more disciplined all round performance. If so we’ll win.

Going 1-1, so at least we will stop the losing run, then next month we have, on paper, 3 very winnable games.

I certainly categorize this as a very winnable game.

Everton beat an Arsenal team that had every cliche available with a new manager in their favour and won with one scruffy goal

Leeds are utter shit (as the league table shows) and run around a lot but not much else - Everton beat them with a very fortunate shot / cross flukey goal

We will have to endure the expected arial bombardment but we should be tactically, skillfully and good enough for these - we just need to be man enough to stand the rough and tumble.

I know we have basically the same players that have seen off the 2 previous Managers but if we feebly lose on Saturday questions of Emery will be raised and quite justifiably

I think we will lose and questions may be asked of Emery but y'know, we do gotta, like trust the process, remember?

If we lose to Everton, things are going to turn sour quite quickly I think. Two teams in Palace and West Ham after that who we don't have the best records against, either.

I can't bear the thought of losing to Everton, but I think we will.

we are the perfect fare for a team in Everton’s situation with a new manager, a couple of wins and a home game against a team that has lost 3 and conceded 11.

I fancy us for this, as I think Emery will not tolerate another defeat - and will be doubling down on this.

He was clearly pissed off after the last game and I think the players will respond.

Expect a strong performance against Everton, with a few changes to the starting lineup.
I suspect some players are unable to carry out Emery's instructions, and it is simply too much for them to handle for 90 minutes.
As work is still in process, attitude and willingness is crucial. What Emery has picked for his 11 to play Everton will be extremely telling after last week because there will be intense training and preparation, so the ones who can concentrate, follow the details and understand from the errors of last week will be the best to start.

Watkins has really shown the way and clearly knows the brief.
It's why he has been scoring goals.
