Two games, with 1 defeat, constitutes a run now.

First defeat in 11.

Played 11
Won 7
Drawn 3
Lost 1

It's a shit run and he should hang his head in shame.

Even if we're not playing well we have chances and have been able to grind out results. Last night we couldn't hang on, but that doesn't mean the world will fall apart.

I wish I could be there for Burnley and cheer them over the line. Right now they deserve and need our support more than ever.

I think ads was being sarcastic to be fair, I'm not sure

Agree with Drummond though. We need to look at it a bit more sensibly. One defeat in 11 and we go into the new years in a Champions League spot. No-one likes losing,  especially in the manner we did and where we did but it's going to happen. We just need to put on our big boy pants and get back on track at the weekend.

Our best manager since Brian Little. He gets it right a lot more than he gets it wrong.

This is his first poor run of form under us.

We have been poor since city. We rode our luck vs arsenal and brentford tbh.

I think he was quite kind to the players with his post match but i think behind the scenes he is livid with what he saw. They were fucking awful that 2nd half. Just played like absolute losers. They played like utd have most of the season
that scuffle at Brentford seemed to unsettle everyone including Emery. Was all so avoidable

Your forgetting that Arsenal and Brentford are included in the bad run, because we didn't blow them out of the water.

He's done brilliantly for us so far.  It has to be remembered that we are only one year into his time with us and the results so far have been excellent.

Given that we are only a year in and we are still a work in progress, particularly in terms of the squad, setbacks are going to happen.  We went on a short run of defeats last season (that included losing to Leicester at home) but were able to recover and finish the season very strongly.

How thoughtless of me!

I wonder what Arsenal fans were saying about Wenger in December 1998 when they blew a two nil lead against us at Villa Park.

A bad day for sure but we will be better when Kamara, Youri and Torres get back in the side

Blaming the RAF for the extended half time break.

Indeed! Only Brazil 1970 type wins count now.

We've been poor in the last two games and got a bit of luck against Brentford and Arsenal where draws wouldn't have been unfair results.

Don't think there's anything wrong in worrying that we're running on fumes a little at the moment and our tactics are being tested more by the opposition now.

We're coming up against different methods too. Sheffield United stuck everyone behind the ball, Man Utd tried balls over the top relentlessly.

We look a bit of a tired side. The injuries and suspensions have meant we haven't been able to rotate as much as Unai may well have wanted. It happens, we're still doing far better than anyone would have thought we would back in the summer. Hopefully with fixtures now going to one a week and then a break it will help us recharge, get players back and kick on again.

And since the Liverpool game we're still on a run of W10 D3 L2. It's not like we're on some shocker of a run.

Not at all. The concern is more that some wins are unconvincing, which is great if you then put in a string of more coherent displays, but that if you don't starts to look a bit like squeezing blood from a stone. And I do think we're more the former than the latter, but that Emery has been known to get players to overperform.

The main thing is that a blip can turn into a Newcastle-style season-ripper if you don't get a grip on things fast. I'm sure Unai will be doing everything he can.
