Apologies LB.
I do learn as the Inter Milan losing the Champions League final (somehow Lukaku contrived to miss) taught me.
Though I think what occured in the Community Shield with Arsenal late equaliser and subsequent penalty win was just what I was thinking should have happened to Inter.
But yes I take on board and will slow the trigger!
We are all wise here.
Up the Villa!

Maybe it’s the pessimist in me that made me so slow on the uptake, but it occurred to me the other day; that if (if mind you) we got into the champions league, we have a manager who legitimately would try and make us win it.

Let’s start with him playing a decent side to try and win the carabao cup first
Unlike last seasons nonsense
Incredibly harsh. His second game in charge, despite what we now know about his work ethic and attention to detail, wouldn’t of know a huge amount about the players in his inherited squad.

People keep saying this but as it stands the goalie that fucked up in the 2 cup games will be starting again in the next few

I’ll tell you what was harsh 7500 going up to OT to watch clowns perform getting knocked out by a weak shit United side, then doing exactly the same thing again against bloody Stevenage

Then People trying to make excuses for the absolute shit show

Villa out to challenge the elite under Emery - https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11677/12935594/unai-emery-interview-aston-villa-boss-on-new-signings-his-european-dreams-and-the-tactics-that-can-make-it-happen.

"Players who were told to cut out the mistakes are now being given the instructions to help them do so and the tactical structure to prevent such situations arising in the first place."  ;D

It's just all gravy with him isn't it? I could've cracked one off reading that.*

It's better than hoping for a bit of magic and saying the visiting side should wipe the floor with us.

Quote
"Try to improve not only as a team but to improve each player and get the best performances from them. Get the full value. And then the consequences should be there on the pitch and in the result." It is working. And it is why Villa can be a force again.

This specific part of what Emery does is why I think most of our players who haven't already stepped up and proven their quality should get a clean slate this year, he makes players hit their potential far more regularly than any other manager we've had for years.

Vinny Company (sic) is another workaholic according to Neville Neville's young fella, anyway:

Interesting.  My only hope is he doesn't make Burnley good.  Seeing them play like Barcelona would be sickening.

Kompany is far more talented but has the same problem Gerrard had when he arrived with us, he's never had to fix something that's broken in the middle of the season. The first time they go on a run without a win for a while is when we'll get a realistic idea of how good he is.

He's only had one season as a manager and he's not made a bad start of it to be honest.
