Showing exactly why we sent him out on loan at the start of the season. The fact he’s an upgrade on Guessand is credit to nobody.

I don’t think he is. Not saying Guessand is ace or anything but being played on the wing when he’s not a winger didn’t help. Leon Bailey just looks done as a top tier footballer. It’s very sad to see given how we remember him in that one season where he was quite superb at times.
Agree with all the comments about how poor he was, but ultimately one has to question why he was picked.

To then move him on and bring back Bailey, who wasn't good enough at the start of the season but seemingly is now, makes our transfer policy look an absolute car-crash.
I do look back on the Guessand stuff and think why not just get Asensio back? Perhaps it’s the wages, but it’s a player Unai obviously wanted versus a chunk of money on a player who isn’t up to it/isn’t the right fit,
He obviously had a poor game, but I think starting him and Buendia just doesn’t really work. Unless they’re both at their absolute best their lack of physicality gets exposed.
