Showing exactly why we sent him out on loan at the start of the season. The fact he’s an upgrade on Guessand is credit to nobody.

Sadly I have to agree, they are both shit.

Indeed.

And Leon makes a good point, the fact we're apparently hamstrung on spending but spaffed so much fucking money up the wall on a player as utterly shit as Guessand kind of lessens our argument. To then move him on and bring back Bailey, who wasn't good enough at the start of the season but seemingly is now, makes our transfer policy look an absolute car-crash.

It's almost as though the manager has enough to do without trying to run the fucking recruitment department too.

We can’t give the fucker away. Roma didn’t want him and now he’s back.

Had his Callaghan moment today. Hopefully that’s the last we see of him.

He obviously had a poor game, but I think starting him and Buendia just doesn’t really work. Unless they’re both at their absolute best their lack of physicality gets exposed.

I thought that as well today. Buendia does try to do the defensive work but is often shoved off the ball too easily. Bailey seemed to just give up in those moments before he was subbed.

When he lost the ball at the end and just didn't react, and then Watkins busted a gut going past him and basically ended up at right back summed them up. It's just a shame Watkins' drive no longer really makes up enough for his diminishing talent.

I do look back on the Guessand stuff and think why not just get Asensio back? Perhaps it’s the wages, but it’s a player Unai obviously wanted versus a chunk of money on a player who isn’t up to it/isn’t the right fit,

We wanted Guessand after watching him 30 (thirty) times apparently.

With Asensio, we wanted him but were not sure we could afford him. He waited, knowing we wanted him, but in the end had to make a decision with a few days of the window left because he didn’t want to be stuck at PSG.

Fans can be demanding. Fans can be unreasonable at times but generally we'll accept that players can have games when nothing seems to go right for them or that we can see that they are struggling.

However, not trying, giving up is tough to forgive.

That moment before he was subbed was one of the rare times when one of our players had space and freedom and the chance to really go at them. Not only did he mess up the opportunity but he gave up on it, refused to try to rectify his mistake.

Fans will never have that. Taxi for Leon!

The same as Luiz being shite for the second half of two years ago, it's bollocks.

He and Buendia are lightweight in a game that has become quicker and more physical.

Was sad watching him yesterday. Stupid back heel just after half time and from that moment on he was looking for Emery to put him out of his misery. I thought he showed some positive signs v Newcastle but right back to rock bottom yesterday. Swapping Sancho and Bailey and trying to get any kind of spark out of them is depressing. Need McGinn back asap

You’re getting as tiresome as Smirker with your anti-Sancho invective. He was fine yesterday and has been for the last couple of months.

Can't remember the last time I was that angry at a player in the Emery era. Guessand was frustrating at times, but he never let his head drop and you could see that he just wasn't comfortable playing out wide.

I wouldn't go so far as to call Bailey 'lazy', but he is simply too easily effected by his own errors. If he get's blocked out early and often in a game, his head completely goes and he gives up. There where at least 3 occasions where Ollie or Cash had to cover for his pathetic lack of effort after he failed to beat his man.

I will never get on a players back for mistakes so long as they react to them. He is far, FAR too delicate in temperament for the PL.

Pretty much nailed it, I can't get too angry though as it's painful watching, I've never seen a player so tortured by his own errors.

If Sancho was performing fine for the last couple of months he would be in the team. Decent last couple of cameos off the bench, sure, let's see how he goes v Wolves. Evidence suggests he will flunk it yet again like he did when Brighton applied a bit of pressure to him. Bailey and Sancho are like two cheeks of the same arse.
