Just watched it again, Brad Young is going to be a superb striker, he has it all, pace, strength, first touch, great feet (for a big man!), a seriously brilliant player.

It'd be great to see Arjan Raikhy swaggering around villa park for the first team, I thought he stood out, he looks a properly cultured player.

Brad Young also looks like he could become an absolute beast.

What a great unexpected bonus the kids have been - scaring the shit out of Liverpool's grown ups in the big cup then winning this.

Brilliant.

He's even started covering himself in tattoos, he's that much in the premier League groove.

He’s 5’8. Unless you’ve seen the future and he adds another 5 inches. What he has got is that very gritty determination. Chases seemingly lost causes. You either have that or you don’t and when you have the number 1 striker at the club one of the very best at never giving up on causes then it’s going to have a very positive impact on the younger kids.

I only saw the first half, as I had screaming children to deal with, so I'm bemused how it ended so close.  Genuinely felt it was going to be 4 or 5.  Did Liverpool improve, or did we tire (as you'd expect youngsters to)?

Either way, what a brilliant way to end the season. Some of the football in the first half was absolutely first class, and we could genuinely see four or five of this lot in our first team over the next few years.

Wouldn't it be nice in thirty years time to be watching a documentary about the Class of '21?

Congrats to the young lads even if they made it it a little more nervy than they needed to. That's the 25 year trophy drought over. :)

Thanks also to Toronto Villa for the Twitter updates, very helpful!

We won it in 2002....

Yeh no problem BV. My pleasure.

And that’s a wrap for Villa match threads for me for another season. It’s been fun overall and a great last week to end it all. Because in years past it has been horrific a lot of the time.

My take on it tonight was that the number 9 is not a big lad but a very disruptive player ...for the opposition.

Once that number 11 improves his decision making he will be a devastating player. ;)

That was so enjoyable last night. Firstly, it was great just be back and around the place.

The game itself was pure football.

No cheating, diving, screaming, rolling around, game management. It was football without all the cynical shit that drives me mad.

Beautiful to watch. We’ve got some real stars in that team and we said afterwards we were struggling to name a stand out MOTM as they all played so well.

Brad Young looks like he’ll be a real handful, a real pain in the arse for defenders!

That was a lovely way to sign the season off and I’m just hopeful there will be a lot more of us there come August time.

Well done the Villa Youth! - hopefully a couple of these will make it to our 1st team and the rest will have good careers within the football pyramid.

Brilliant game. Some real quality on show.

Is Arron Ramsey usually the captain? Noticed that it was him that lifted the trophy, not Kesler, who was captain on the night

Thought the keeper, Marschall, looked pretty safe, but, flippin heck, he was picking some passes 😂
