once we upped the tempo and got aggressive it wasn't a difficult game

Totally agree.  Physicality helped us to win that game.  Davis and Ramsey pushed and pressed.  Take note Mr Lange and ready yourself to address that issue in the summer please. We need to be more aggressive and physical.

We have seven free hits left this season. We should try playing with the brakes off a bit, and not just when we’re looking down the barrel. Give teams something to worry about.

Wonder how many times Sanson had his passes and crosses being blocked. French league must be really soft. Can't take that much time to aim a pass in PL.
But then again the same shit happens when Ross try it....and Sanson at least try to win it back when he loses the ball.

To say I didn't see that coming is a massive understatement.  We were pretty hopeless until the subs came on and they all did the business.  Fair play to Trez, I don't rate him but if he can do that kind of thing a bit more often I'll be more than happy.  Glad Davis showed his worth as well, I think he's earned a start or two.

Sanson needs this season to settle in and get up to pace.  Haven't seen a great deal from him as yet but he will get fitter and quicker thinking as time goes on.

I’m glad the subs and change of shape worked. Been crying out for a change of shape at least for a while.

First half was dreadful. Almost sent me to sleep.

A victory but let’s be honest the goals papered over the cracks. No way are we good enough for Europe without major signings this summer.
I agree and that’s the point. If we get there (or if we don’t) we’re gonna be busy in the summer to go to that next step. The midfield will need quality and added quality up front. We will improve

Compare us to 12 months ago and we have a massively different base to build from this coming summer.

Yes there were a few signed for last season who weren't quite at it but have showed improvement after a season.  He's looked meh so far but I won't be writing him off just yet.

At this point in time we don't have another forward on the books who gives us what Davis can in terms of physicality.

We know the shortcomings re his goal output, so - if we are in the market for a forward again this summer - it needs to be for someone like that who is also capable of chipping in with goals at this level.

Good to see Smith be a bit more adventurous and different with the subs. I think everyone was expecting Barkley to come on at some point. It wasn't great until the last 15 mins but let's hope that pushes the team on if we have to continue without Jack.

5 points off 5th place with a game in hand.
4 of our remaining 9 games are against teams seperating us from 5th.

Nine points and four wins better off than what we finished last season with.

Totally ordinary and indeed fucking shite for most of the game. Then we scored three goals. WTF?

Great stuff! I'm sure Dean and the squad will build on this with the next game in mind.
