I’m confused now. Are we …?

a) Going back to the Purslow plan (don’t think this is the case, but for completeness…)

b) Going ahead with the North Stand plans as they were

c) Going ahead with the North Stand but doing some alterations that won’t affect the capacity to any meaningful degree

d) Option C but it will add to the capacity?

The Calvo statement sounded like wouldn’t make any changes, but then the Tanswell article felt like it was saying we were making some bigger changes that’d add a couple of thousand extra seats

We need somebody to copy the Athletic article for us cheap uns', but the broad answer is nobody really knows

You’d imagine it’s ‘C’ just for the fact that if it were anything else, it would have been announced to placate those now unable to get tickets.

The lower tier obviously sweeps around to the other stands as it is, will be interesting to how much or if any of it will remain open.
The Athletic piece yesterday said the capacity will be reduced by 5k, so that's not the entire stand capacity.

Not informing season ticket holders in the North Stand of the closure, and not informing local residents of the closure of Trinity Rd, closed for 7 months.....? All sounds a bit amateur hour tbh.

It says they have asked to shut the Trinity Road for 6 months for the development .  I dont think that has gone down well with residents

I imagine its a right royal pain in the arse but tbh it happens on streets and roads up and down the country all the time. As ever after the initial moaning people find ways of coping.

They won’t be changing anything significant as that’d need to reengage the planning process. Interesting though that they’re doing it in totally closed mode for the season though. Didn’t Emery say he didn’t want us playing in front of an empty end in the champions league?

It also won't be as bad as the match-days which the one resident compared it to as that has 40k descending on the area AND more road closures around VP. Although actual match days might be worse for them.

That was 2 years ago when we were still trying to get a foothold. I'd imagine the playing side are happy enough with how it is currently to suffer it for a season.

I expect Emery and Heck didn't want it closed during CL at the time, for different reasons. But it now has to be done so we will have to cope with one stand closed. I wonder if booking OzFest for next summer has been another thing to speed up the process.

If we were truly ambitious we'd build stands above Villa Park so as people could have a view like in Sensible Soccer.
