There is no way in the world they will build a 60,000 seat stadium. My guess would be a 30,000 seat ground initially, with room to expand in the unlikely event of it ever being required.

They are building it for non footballing reasons. The capacity would be dramatically reduced for football games by closing off upper tiers for example. That's what I've heard anyway.

Man United pushing on with a 100,000 stadium. That's two and a half times our capacity.

We are being really left behind by not expanding.

As much as i hate to say it, it looks like what Man U are doing is the right approach.

Talk of 5,00 new homes, regeneration of the surrounding area, better connections to the city centre and Salford, local councils on board, social and economic benefits to the region and local area, all with a generous sprinkling of high profile "celebrities" thrown in for good measure.

All a long way from Chris Heck and his approach of nah, we're supposed to be making more money not spending it.

I think we're a long way off any stadium decisions being made.

For some bizarre reason we seem to be intent on making our capacity smaller, and are miles off it with basic facilities for fans in 2024. Food and drinks choices are abysmal for current times. I think the food options are the same as 82 when I started going, bar the extravagance of curry and chips.

Very much so. I expect we will still be playing in front of 42,000 or so in 2030 if not longer.

An Arsenal director has been quoted talking about expanding the Emirates too.

You need a tin foil hat if you believe that would ever happen.

Chelsea looking to build a new ground at Earls Court.

Assume they will then sell Stamford Bridge to themselves for 8 Billion.

Reading that article, I very much doubt they will be able to piggy back onto a development that is about to go to planning.  It would be like us trying to hijack the Smithfield thing.
