Mon you Villa boys, virtually never threatened by Dirty Media United.

Konsa and Mings both international class, McGinn much improved, every one worked his arse off for the win.

Europe back on and... whisper it... we are probably safe. 😃

Well done to the Villa by winning against the best coach in the world and best team to ever be promoted into the Prem division.

Well well  the doom merchants from the Pre match thread take a look!!! A superb performance against “Real” Leeds and despite their huffing and puffing they had one shot on goal. Defence outstanding yet again and a hardworking midfield were great. Another quality performance
very happy to be proved wrong. Only saw the 2nd half and it didn’t look a classic, although I gather we were better 1st half. Leeds had the bulk of the possession but created nothing until that close range header at the end they probably should’ve scored from. Dirty niggling fkrs- Klich should’ve gone for the cynical foul in McGinn. Was impressed by Ramsey, Nakamba and McGinn in the middle and Mings and Konsa very solid at the back. Wasn’t pretty but they dug out the win. Credit to Deano for making some tough choices and getting it right. WFH Monday, but Tuesday will be nice to bump into the dirty Leeds weasel at work.

For the number of times down the years that I've seen us concede early at home and then never look like getting an equalizer, I love it when we do that to someone else.

The correct changes in midfield followed-up by those selected justifying the shirt.  The defence was also rock-solid.

If we'd secured two points from the last two games without Jack, I'd have been happy.  So really pleased with three and also that the first half against from Leicester has finally precipitated the changes that had needed making for a few games prior to that.

So true about the tactics. In the reverse fixture, Dean was undone by one of the best tacticians around; today, he absolutely did a number on him. So impressive.

Great Barr’s Dean Smith tactically out manoeuvres the, according to the media, worlds best coach Bielsa. Bit of credit for Smith here please.

Never really created anything 2nd half, but were completely comfortable, piece of piss really.

In the last 6 or 7 games, Mings has cut out trying to play and does what God used to do, boot it out of play when necessary. Man of the match for me, McGinn also worked hard without the ball.
I really dislike Leeds and have enjoyed this win as much as some of the ones with more dynamic attacking displays.

Oh and keep Marv in please Dean. We seem to do alright when he plays. Turning into Makélélé "light".

Tonight could be one of those games where we take a big step forward to the big time again.

A lot of us have been crying out to refresh the midfield.

And we weren’t sure Dean & Co would do it.

But they did and the result was amazing.

We completely nullified Leeds.  The team who often steamroll forward and create bags of openings.

Well done Dean & Co.

Special mentions for AEG and Nakamba and Targett and of course .....the best keeper in the world.

I think that my dream of ordering “A tray full of cold beers please “  - in a different language in September might still be on.  UTFFAV

Fantastic result. I really couldn't see Leeds scoring. I thought  McGinn was superb, he didn't stop.

Great tactics from Deano. Getting the early goal was crucial.

Not impressed with that line up. Either one of El Ghazi or Traore, but not both. Piss weak midfield. Long evening ahead.

My pre match comment. I love being wrong.

We have a hell of a bench with Grealish, Luiz and Barkley to be bought on...if needed.

Thought Traore put in a real shift today. Covered a lot of ground and worked hard closing down.
