Decent win. It's a pity we didn't go on and score a few more but they were that bad, it didn't really matter. Nakamba did well and Konsa was an absolute steal for £12m. He really is a class act.

We spent 200m on this squad and it looks like we would get double that for the collection nowadays.

For me our flattest performance of the season.
But we got 3 points.

Bit worried when we are going to get scintillating again.

To answer my own question is when Barkley and Jack hit form...

As comfortable a victory as you could ever hope for. Newcastle wouldn't have looked like scoing if the game had lasted 9 hours.

They have turned in to us post-O'Neill and pre-Smith.

Exactly this. I saw so many performances under McNeil and Lambert where the other team got a goal or two and after that it was a kick about with us never looking like scoring. Good that we saved our energy considering we have a heavy program coming up. We'll go again.

You couldn’t pick a sub-par performance from any of our players tonight. Not spectacular by any means. But a good solid team effort. Nobody would get less than a 7. For me it was our quality at the back. Back 5 plus Marv that was most pleasing. In control throughout. Never panicked, always assured. You’ll always get a few chances against the likes of Newcastle. We took them, could have had a few more, but ultimately didn’t matter. Well done Villa

As dominant performance as I can remember in recent times and we always looked like we had an extra gear.  Traore is a real bag of tricks - absolutely sublime at times with the odd really bizarre decision thrown in.  Good for Ollie Watkins on the scoresheet and a special mention for Marvelous who I thought had a really good game.

Looks like Steve Bruce had swapped the old “sit back, get the ball to Snoddy and hope for a bit of magic” to “sit back and try and get the ball in the air to a washed up Andy Carroll”.

Darren Bent tipping us for top six. Jamie Redknapp saying this is as good a Villa side as he can remember. Steve Bruce interview up next on SKY.

A stroll the likes of which would have been unimaginable for many a year. Burnley and Soton are now all that stand between this side equalling its predecessor's points total in only half as many games.

Comfortable win. Good all round team performance.

Special shout for Marvellous. 2nd start of the season and he was outstanding. Started attacks with clever forward passes and constantly tidied things up.

Nice touch to Traore to begin 2nd goal.

Really, really good.

Great time to be a Villa fan.
What stands out for me is players are coming into the side when required and performing superbly.
Marvellous was indeed Marvellous.
And Ezri is the real deal.
