As comfortable a victory as you could ever hope for. Newcastle wouldn't have looked like scoing if the game had lasted 9 hours.

They have turned in to us post-O'Neill and pre-Smith.

Bruce has steadied the punt.

Compare and contrast the end of last season to where we are now. Utterly remarkable. Well done all involved.

At 91 minutes, Carragher absolutely ripped into the club that is N'castle United; went on a right rant
Let's stuff Burnley now!

God Newcastle are terrible. Love everything about us this season. Konsa is absolute class, goes about his business without any fuss and doesn’t put a foot wrong.
Easiest 3 points we will get this season.

All as simple as deep down majority of us thought it would be wasn't it?

Loved watching Traore tonight. He worked his balls off and to me he has that touch of class that mean we can break down teams who sit back.

Good all over although Doug was a bit below par and sloppy with his passing. Playing him slightly more advanced didn't quite well, Marvellous did well sweeping up behind him.

Back in the top half where we belong this season.

Konsa MOTM, followed by Nakamba.

Both excellent!

An unbelievably easy win. Dominance was much much more than 2-0 scoreline.

Seemed like that. As a Sunderland fan put it

Looks like Villa are playing FIFA and the guy controlling Newcastle has walked out the room but left the game running.

I just put on the match thread how much I enjoyed Jamie's commentary. He really knows the game and talks total sense. Quality.

It definitely helps that he quite rightly seems to compliment us a lot, but I do like Carragher as a commentator. Even during the 7-2 I thought he was good, unlike that sour old tw*t Souness

Like a training game. A shame we did get out of third gear second half, but we didn’t have to. They are really bad, they might have enough points already to go down but they are rotten.
Nakamba was very tidy, Konsa and Targett class, Ollie worked hard.
We’ll need more intensity against Burnley and Southampton next couple of games.

A proper top 6 performance. Jump to a 2-0 lead, then just manage it to the end against a team who were nowhere near the same standard.

Comes to something when Mings is probably the most vulnerable / susceptible to being replaced in defence as Targett, Konsa and Cash and becoming consistently excellent. Though I wonder how much the improvement in defence is a function of Martinez' arrival.

I'll go against TV and say that I thought Bert was utter shit apart from his goal. Can hardly remember a pass he made, but can remember plenty of moves he broke down / fucked up.

Rest of the midfield / attack good without being great. AEG and Trez pretty limited, Ramsey looked tidy and put in a lovely pass to set *can't remember* away down the left right at the death.

Decent chance at a good run now, not much to fear from the upcoming fixtures.

edit : "While you were typing, 36 new replies..." Seems folks are very upbeat !
