Broken finger 😮

Surely he's out of the WC then?

Bit slow to catch up on all the threads here but no I think he'll be fine, 2-3 weeks in a splint and then heavy padding on it for training/games and it should be fine. Fingers recover pretty quickly normally.

Offside anyway but the two bits he had to do were class. He came out to collect, realised he was going over the goal line, released the ball and then recollected when safe, and the one handed stop from the point blank header.

I’ve changed my stance slightly.

He has to stay, he’s just too important.
He’s probably got 3 or 4 years at the very top, so bring a younger backup in to gradually take over.
Bizot is a great backup, but he’s not long term.
How promising is the young lad Wright? Could he be the one?

I have been watching non stop villa content for 24 hours and didn't see this.

You know it's a big one when you can't keep up with the Villa content despite being glued to it!

Emi's gesture re Alysson was great.
I hadn't noticed it in real time, but I had seen Alysson in the line of players awaiting medals and then suddenly running out of line to join the players already on the podium having received theirs, approaching from round the back of the staging, which I thought was a little odd at the time.

Never lost faith in Big Emi.

Best goalkeeper in the world, best one we’ve had in my lifetime, and quite quite possibly our best goalkeeper ever.

Also he’s a loveable little scamp.

Telling that the first person to him after the final whistle was Bizot
