I get the anger i really do. But while he is a villa player i see it pointless to turn on him.

As long as he puts his all on the pitch to redeem  himself then i can forget and move on

Same here, its hardly a two way street in terms of loyalty is it. We've just spent the summer with the prime focus of shifting players outward. It happens.

I hope he comes back, is accepted, and gets on with being a top keeper, and he will with a WC around the corner. And in the meantime we can get some work done on identifying a replacement.

I may be being naive, but I don't know why most people are so sure Emi wanted to leave. All that I can recall hearing is that he said, I don't want to leave, but that's football.' Also, remember his tears at the end of the last home game of last season? That doesn't seem to tally with someone who wants to leave.

Its what's been reported. He told staff and the players. Rat ******.

How do you know?

As I read the article which is quite clearly briefed from the club given the significant detail it expends on the rest of our summer.

Was watching some interview Hasselbaink had on with Sky recently about his time at Leeds and the antics around him leaving Leeds with Chelsea interested. Parallels with Isak and even Martinez. They had Peter Risdale and DOL giving the Leeds side of the story, JFH giving his view. I guess with deals like this nobody really knows the truth. JFH was insistent he wanted to stay at Leeds but wanted naturally a big contract. What was unsaid was a wedge he knew Chelsea would pay but Leeds couldn't.  The club reckoned they couldn't afford it but Risdale/DOL thought nothing of giving duds like Seth Johnson big contracts shortly after. So even years later, both parties giving their own version of events neither of which tell the real story.

I highly doubt Martinez told Emery he wouldn't play v Palace but he was clearly distracted and expected the move would happen. He dropped a clanger at Brentford that he was lucky to get away with and on the other side Man United's keepers were struggling badly. Unfortunately for Emery, Bizot has a large share of the blame in all three goals conceded v Palace. So benching Martinez just isn't an option. I think all involved are fortunate there's an international break. Cool heads now called for and reassess in the summer.

Exactly  and we dont know if he is pissed off at the club for letting ramsey go. Still no exuse for refusing to play but i think emi will be out to redeem himself. If he gives us one more good season  im happy for  him to go in the summer or possibly  jan if a replacement  is lined up

Most sources are saying that UE didn't pick him as he wasn't focussed on the game enough, he didn't refuse to play, or at least wasn't given the opportunity to refuse to play.

It's still strange that he clearly wanted to go and yet we only had the loan offer in the summer from Utd. No other enquiries?

I read somewhere that he turned down Galatasaray. No idea how much truth there is in that though.

Me too.  Booing players wearing our shirt should be reserved for Hodge.

Hang on, you scream and moan and complain about a bad bit of play but you want to forgive someone desperate to fucking leave for that bunch of wankers? What the fuck?

There’s a very different take on all this on Facebook from something called the Villa Goalzone.  No idea how clued up they are. Alarming if true though.
