With the way it works wouldn’t we be ok with the way there accounted for - ie book value of Martinez will be low so mainly profit.  Plus any new purchase would be spread over 5 years

Obviously the loan offer from United is hilarious, and they're not a serious organisation.

However while at the start of the summer, I'd been of the "do not sell at all costs" stance, I think I'd probably now be in favour of selling if we can get 40m for him as our one 'big sale' that allows us to a) go and get someone like Chevalier who is 8 years younger and will probably have been poached by another UCL club this time next year, and b) free up some funds to make 2 starting XI-level additions to the team (e.g. a RB and winger).

The wage/SCR point to me is a bonus - I think there's a reasonable footballing case for saying that he's just had his worst season (both stats-wise and eye test-wise) with us; his value from here at 32 is probably not going to go up; and we have an opportunity to potentially secure our number 1 for the next 8-10 years if we move decisively this summer.

They want to try and shift Onana first but he’s injured isn’t he?
The obvious solution would be a swap with Garnacho as it’s rumoured they’re valued at a similar price, however wouldn’t we still need to potentially sell another big player, or several squad players, to get to the £25m+ to cover the cost of a No1 goalie, the Lille bloke for instance?

It's not that wild a leap to think Onana being injured is why they've apparently tried to loan Martinez. They're not going to be able to shift Onana now, so possibly can't make the books balance to outright buy a new keeper.

Likewise for us, loaning out a player like that isn't really going to do us any favours, so we'd be mad to accept anything other than his full value in cash, or a swap for a similarly valued player, preferably one that we actually want.

It's likely we'd listen to sensible offers, as we would with most players. As an ageing player, probably on the highest salary in the squad, I think he's one we'd look to do business, if it's to our advantage. But not at a point where we'd help one of our rivals on the cheap.

I'm guessing they'll next try a swap deal of Onana for Martinez.
This is a joke surely. Jim Ratcliffe would love that I'm sure - and so would the rest of the Mancs twats.

Anyone at the game last night see anything from Emi that suggested he's staying put?

Well there was nothing at all to suggest he is going anywhere. He was the same Emi as we’ve all seen and love.

I thought Emi's distibution was fantastic last night, pinpoint balls out to both defensive and attacking players.

He was a little teary-eyed at the thought it might be his last visit to Walsall, but nothing more than that.

He ran the game in the first half despite incessant pressing from Roma boys.

Emi up for the Yashin again. Can't see him winning it this year.

Has to be the lad at PSG you’d think.

Yep. Probably a PSG sweep for most of the top awards.

Strange...he was pretty average last season. And talking to ManUre too by all accounts, cheeky fvcker.
