Is this shit coming from Martinez’ side? It’s all emanating from Argentina.

Regarding release clauses, Delph agreed to such instrument in order to play the dynamic between current employer and prospective employers. It actually turned out reasonably well for all parties, I suppose (with hindsight).
Just sayin'

Thought that at the time and still do. Could've easily walked for free. Probably should've.

Manchester United reportedly failed with a loan proposal to Aston Villa for goalkeeper Emi Martinez over the weekend.

So far they've only got Rashford off their books, I think. And yet they've spent a good bit. I think this will rumble on all summer, but I'd be surprised if they make anything happen without getting rid of Hojlund, Onana, Garnacho, Sancho, Antony and several others first.

If that's true, it suggests we want him out.

Or they’re trying to encourage Emi to say something publicly to drive his price down.
No clue but I did think it was a strange move, if true.

If that was the case then we'd have accepted their offer.

The only way we'd let any top player go is on a permanent deal. Loans are no good. That they even try that suggests we've intimated we're prepared to let him go.

I think the club is ok with him going and have already lined the replacement up.

It's likely we'd listen to sensible offers, as we would with most players. As an ageing player, probably on the highest salary in the squad, I think he's one we'd look to do business, if it's to our advantage. But not at a point where we'd help one of our rivals on the cheap.

I'm guessing they'll next try a swap deal of Onana for Martinez.

They want to try and shift Onana first but he’s injured isn’t he?
The obvious solution would be a swap with Garnacho as it’s rumoured they’re valued at a similar price, however wouldn’t we still need to potentially sell another big player, or several squad players, to get to the £25m+ to cover the cost of a No1 goalie, the Lille bloke for instance?
