Yeah but when we married we were working in a warehouse, and since then we've won Pop Idol and lost 4 stone so it's time to move on.

"I like long walks in the country, board games and fine dining. Looking for similar with GSOH and an indomitable will to put the fuck up with my bullshit for romantic days out and cosy nights in. Asbestos will be provided."

And everything will flow!

For what it's worth I'd keep Pau and Emi and replace Watkins with a younger more technically gifted finisher (like Duran) - runs for cover

Except keeping Duran seems never to have been an option. He wanted out. That's why he left a CL club in the highest-profile league in the world to join a retirement community in the middle of a desert.

Duran was never going to contribute to our club the way Ollie has. He had no intention of even giving it a go, and the manager knew it. Fuck Duran.

I meant more 'like' Duran than actually Duran himself - who clearly was always on the way out of the club like you said.

I love Ollie, I think we got the best of him on our way back up the footballing ladder, but if we want to push on we need a technically superior centre forward who can take the umpteen chances we create.

I can't wait for this prolific striker who's going to come in, "who can take the umpteen chances we create".
Who is he? Don't keep us guessing! 😉

It's not my job to keep you guessing, I'm just a random bloke on a forum, not a football scout. I'm sure Monchi & Co will have an idea of who's out there and it's their job to keep you guessing or hopefully answer your question.

If we weren't at a stage where we're competing with top European clubs in the Champions League then I wouldn't be typing this but Watkins is not good enough for Villa 'IF' we want to reach a higher level than we've arrived at this season. He misses more chances than Pau & Emi make mistakes and I believe they are more technically equipped to play at the highest level.

In hindsight it may have been better off as an internal thought rather than a public forum post. I need to revert back to being a lurker

I just think it's nice you've got someone to join you in your fox-hole.

RG, I wasn't expecting you to pin a striker down, with a biro and a contract. A bit of fan speculation would have been interesting.
I hope you get the striker that you want, who's currently lurking somewhere in your internal thoughts.

If people want a name then i'd offer a swap with Emi and Yamal. They need a keeper.

Even if Watkins stays, who won’t go on forever
So at some point we’re gonna have to go out and get another striker If you don’t think we’ll ever get another striker that’s any good and there’s no one out there that can possibly take his place then more fool you

If we're looking at replacements, I quite like that Malen guy at Aston Villa.
