As much as I love Emi the maths isn't in his favour.  With 4 years on his contract if he isn't sold this summer he will be next.  It's becoming a tired cliche already but in the cureent financial...blah, blah, blah...he's probably as valuable (financially speaking) as he ever will be.  Linked to Joan Garcia at about £20m there's some profit in there.

I would just go for Mbeumo and Wissa as a pair.

It's obviously not as simple as that and yes they would cost a lot. However, if we sell a few players and Watkins does leave, that would also come to a lot.

March off Ollie and Emi to Al-Suckers for £120M, job done on PSR for a couple of seasons.
Malen gets regular starts next season and pick up Sels from the Forest for about £20M.

I despise the thought of losing him but also understand there is a necessary business element to selling any player we have if the consequence is we keeping edging forward as a club. Selling Emi would be every bit as significant to us as it probably was Man U selling Beckham or Ronaldo. Every bit massive global stars, arguably more so given Man U’s global status at the time. But they went from strength to strength by replacing massive players with other top players. It would feel shit in the moment but there will be a time it’s going to happen. It may as well be when his value is at its peak or close to it.

Why replace a 32 year old keeper with a 33 year old keeper?

I'm not advocating the move but a differential of about £30m in transfer fees might be one reason.

Well, as I say, Garcia is available for about 20m and is 23(?) with a good reputation and has made himself  number 1 at Espanyol.  It's obviously a punt to a certain extent but could be an excellent long term acquistion.

Telegraph running Martinez and Bailey to Saudi. Bit of substance there?

Edit: Said an hour ago, but looks like it already broke a couple of days back. Ignore.

And he's just as likely to go back to being bang average as Emi is to going back to being one of the best.

I think that’s sensible trading (as most PL owners call it these days) If it happens.

Garcia, Gauci, Zych, Emery ... and others. Loads of keepers.
Can we play them all at once?- if so, let's keep playing Torres at CB!!
