Should have saved the first tonight, nowhere for the second,

He did save it, just unlucky it fell against his foot. Any other time it falls away and a defender mops up.

He could've punched the ball away for their first goal.

He had a split second to get anything on it at all, let alone have time to decide to punch or parry.

Or a striker taps it in and Martinez is equally to blame. Either he catches it or pushes it away from danger. That's as bad a goal as he has conceded for us.

Confidence clearly a bit rocky as he hardly left his line afterwards, at his best he relishes those collisions. Same for Newcastle goal, should have put Schar to sleep.

People want miracles performed in split seconds sometimes.

I do think with this particular shot that he was quite unlucky, however I do think he has had a poor season in general so I understand the frustration. I think that plays out statistically with his save percentages.

His stats are incredible in the CL.

It’s his command of his area that’s the main problem at the moment. He seems quite indecisive and it’s leaving us exposed.

Cant believe some of the posts I’m seeing on here this morning. He saved the shot and was unfortunate that the ball fell onto his foot to go in. It was an unpreventable own goal.

Emi seemed to be more stable when he had Neil Cutler coaching him.

So Emi was better when we were fighting relegation?

He's been our best keeper for years, but he's not absolved of blame/judgement just because of those trophies he's won for Argentina.

He'd admit himself that he's not been at his best this season. There are a fair few occasions where last season's Emi would have saved some of our goals conceded. Not sure what's going on with him - Still a brilliant keeper, but we've seen better from him tbh.

And that is a valid take. It is the people stating "he is shit" and "cash in this summer whilst we can" and "he is a clown" which are the ones who just reacting badly to a loss and hopefully are calmer headed today.

Only time we've fought relegation since Emi arrived is a few months under Gerrard, and everyone was crap under that twat. Apart from Emi.
