He's the best big-match keeper on earth.

My all time favourite villa goalkeepers in no particular order: Pink, Rimmer, Bosnich. All were fantastic but Emi Martinez is on another level. He's spectacularly good.

I know she played at VP a couple of years back but didn't realise she had go between the sticks as well. Good on her.

Always thought she was a keeper.

Anyone notice when he went down "injured" in the last few minutes he had a huge grin on his face? He knew what he was doing and knew that we all  knew lol

I'd be furious if an opposition player did that to us but I had to laugh last night. The shithouses shithouse and I'm so glad he's on our side.

Emi Martínez: “I’m crazy about continuing to grow, becoming the best & winning everything with Aston Villa. I set out to play in the Champions League & I was able to achieve it. I have no ceiling, I want to continue growing & I try to show it in every match..”

This was incredible game awareness, I think three of our lads had just chased down a possible counter attack at the other end and he knew they'd be knackered, so he went down knowing they'd be able to get their breath and get back into position while he was treated.

And also Goalkeeprs don’t have to go off the pitch after injury treatment so you’re not down to 10 men if it was an outfield player.

Brian Kerr was fuming at his antics on the commentary. Thought it was pointless as they'd just add on the time again. He's not the sharpest tool in the box, obviously.

I love Emi, he's got an aura about him now. He feeds doubt in the minds of opponents when it comes to one on ones and penalties. If you have big Emi rushing out at you over most other keepers, that comfortable dink you might try on most, you just second guess with Martinez. He makes the goal look small.

The mic at the end of the game caught him playing the parent with the ref over Philogene's red. Was nice to hear.
