"When I walked into the Arsenal locker room, one of the guys would say 'Hi, Em'. I had no idea what it meant. I thought you just said 'Hello' to say hello. My English was very bad. That's when Arsène (Wenger) told me I had to learn the language. He put a prize in my contract if I took an exam at Cambridge University, because Arsène said I really needed to speak the language. If I passed the exam, he would charge £20,000. I said to the teacher 'please, I need to pass this test'. So I studied for years and passed, so I spoke well and got better at it over the years."
