Reads like a farewell

It doesn't but I think CL and quality investment will keep him interested. He's no Jack, he prefers to earn his medals. Plus, Barca don't have the money to buy him this summer.

Seriously, where else would he go for what, £80m?

Anyone reading that as a farewell clearly didn't finish the Janet and John series at infant school. ;-)

It does rain a lot in that part of Canadialand to be fair.

I agree. It’s remarkable anyone has interpreted it as that. Nuts.

Reads like a farewell

That's it, he's definitely gone! Thanks for ruining my weekend. >:(

I'm going to pour myself a stiff drink and put this on a loop for the day, as I'm too despondent to enjoy the frivolity of Eurovision.

I'm pouring a scotch, tear in my eye, thinking about how you don't what you've lost till it's gone*.

* I'm out of blondies that I've just bought from an artisinal market up town.

It reads pretty well as he says it. He's pissed off to be knocked out of Europe, but wants to help us get over the line in the final two games. And what else would you expect him to say other than that, every other Villa player will feel exactly the same way, surely?

McGinn and Ollie also in the team of the season running.

Not Emi? If so that's pathetic, he's been exceptional this season, despite some ropey defending in front of him.

Agreed Martinez is numero Uno of the world let alone Prem how he isn't regarded highly in Prem I think only because of antics

He's ranking number one overall this season in the league on all these metrics

1st for Goals Prevented XG
1st for Goals Prevented XG per 90
1st for Keeper Sweeper regains
1st for headed clearances

Martinez :
"Sometimes clubs sign a goalkeeper who's skilled with their feet but doesn't save much. I always focus needing to save better than I play with my feet. By saving I win titles. The GK is move valued now. In the past the goal keeper earned the least and it was the 'fat one' who went in goal"

Now holds the record for most PL own goals by a keeper with 3.

I'm surprised it is so low. I though Hart threw in a few in his career. His one last season against Arse at home was so unfortunate and nothing he could have done. But tonights.....

Stinker of an own goal but I thought he played really well after that. I've seen some criticism for their 2nd but for me that's really harsh, not many keepers would do better than he did there.
