Ahhh, football. The universally accepted forum for chaste and polite exchanges of view.

Obviously, but in general, I think this site stops short of 70s Carry On humour.

There's nothing wrong with early 70s Carry on humour, or 60's. I'd say that by the mid Seventies onwards it became rather stale and tasteless, but 'Carry on Loving', 'Convenience' and 'Up the Jungle' are classic British comedy. There is a reason they still run 'Carry-On a Thons' on most British bank holidays still now.

And who the hell is not a Sid James fan? I've heard it all now.

Martinez wise, i disagree with anyone saying he did anything wrong against Lille. Shushed the crowd once after one pen save after they'd booed him for 120 mins. Big deal. His 2 yellow cards were complete bollocks. I'd be interested to know what else he's supposed to have done.

The poster who mentioned Sid James has wittingly or unwittingly turned the attention from a poster or posters who is/are wittingly or unwittingly attempting to apply his/her/their own moral standards to the rest of us. I am confident that the mods will step in to adjudicate or clarify when necessary, be it to prevent abuse or 'pile-ons' or to confirm that posts, albeit a tad ribald*, are acceptable or not.

*I don't see how a simple mention of 'Pornhub' or 'Babestation' can be construed as such.

I agree with this. Lille fans should stop being precious about it.

No I can see an appropriate football playing keeper come in and Gauci probably that guy.
Martinez is number one without a doubt.

What are "Gauci that guy"s strengths & weaknesses?

Without wanting to pile on, moaning about people bringing up your old posts when you have form for quoting yourself to claim 'insight' isn't likely to go down well.

You can either leave everything in the past or accept you've got as many things wrong as you got right.

This is exactly what came to my mind, you can't have it both ways. 😉

Look at the posts over a period of time and you'll see the pattern.  Instant responses, primarily mocking, rarely funny.  Mike isn't the only one to have spotted it and it's been discussed before.

I can't really add anything constructive to the thread, but if you want to see Sid's Chopper, here it is:

What are "Gauci that guy"s strengths & weaknesses?

Well he's being developed and he said it himself:
"From all conversations, it's been very positive," Gauci said when questioned on his role. "I believe this step in my career is going to be a positive one. And all the conversations that I've had have been extremely positive about me and my role and the way that they see me progressing. For my career, that's why I decided to go.

"Playing games is extremely important but this is also an opportunity to take my career and develop myself as a goalkeeper and take that to the next level."

That is not what I asked.

I did not ask what he has said about his opportunity.

I asked you what you think Gauci's strengths & weaknesses are?

Told VillaTV

He likes to be as calm as possible, but likes to be aggressive at the same time, in defending the space behind the back four, aggressive in one v ones and in the air.

"I'm definitely not perfect, I've never played a perfect game. I'm still developing and learning, and accepting that I'll make mistakes and try to improve on them. I'm 100% committed to football and I'll give my all to get better each and every day. Hopefully that shows in my performances"

"the level of detail they went into about my game, I could tell how much they'd analysed me as a goalkeeper. Not only that but as a person as well, the detail they went into in that regard and the areas of my game that I can improve on. It felt like I could come in straight away and take my game to another level."

So now we definitely know what VillaTV think of Gauci, but I still have no idea what you think.

Forget it.

It's not important enough to keep asking if you have nothing to say for yourself.

Oh I not s familiar with his play so can't totally suggest what his strengths are but research has said he can play with his feet as well as what he himself has mentioned.

“he can play with his feet as well”.
That’s the type of innuendo we want more of on this thread.
