I thought he was immense today.  When he makes a save he has no right to make, I count it as a goal.  He's going to be in Pongo Waring territory if he keeps on like this.

He played really well, but don't think any of the saves were anything out of the ordinary  to be honest, they didn't have any great chances, just things you'd expect a keeper as good as Emery to make.

What a man. A great manager and a great keeper.

Martinez kept us in the game. Just because he normalises excellence doesn’t make it any more miraculous.

Although don't pass out straight to one of the Newcastle forwards on Tuesday please, Emi!

He made a slight bollock but as time goes on we’ll come to see that he is a Villa great and we’ll look back and compare future Villa keepers to Martinez. Enjoy the golden age.

As Roy Keane would say , ‘that’s his job ‘

But by God he does it well 😀

I agree with Keane to an extent, especially when people say things like "the goalie is keeping them in this".

I think the level of his performances - as in saves I wouldn’t expect an average keeper to make - has been worth several points for us this season.  All great teams need a great keeper and we certainly have that.

I loved the way he rallied the crowd at one point and then after Lenglet made a cock up he gave him a hug with a don’t worry mate.

He such a monumental presence in the defence. At one point Moreno and Konsa were mouthing off a bit at each other after a minor cockup, and he was straight in sorting it out and bucking them up. Luiz did as well.

Absolute star - he wins a trophy with us and he’ll be a proper legend. Still delights me what a cock up Arsenal made.

He's probably done enough to leapfrog Olsen and be our starting keeper in cup matches.

The thing for me is, I don't think the saves he made yesterday were anything special but I think thats just because they come from Emi and its kind of expected from him now, its what he does, its normal to him. If Olsen was in goal and had made those saves I'd be saying how well he had played and thats probably unfair on Emi.
