But why are we discussing Watkins in Emi's thread? The forum is out of control at times.

Much better to stay on topic.

Please accept our humble, heart-felt collective apology.

He should try the transfer rumours thread.

What is a hotpot exactly? My sole knowledge of them comes from Betty's hotpots on Corrie. Is it just stew with spuds on top? Like shepherd's pie but with chunks instead of mince?

Lancashire hotpot is basically lamb stew (ie chunks not mince) with sliced potatoes on the top, unlike shepherd's pie which has mince. You can add carrots and the like but traditionally I think it's just lamb and onions. Typically served with pickled cabbage. A big favourite in our house.

And to divert off on Axl's tangent, an Asian hotpot is a big bowl of soup that you cook your own meat / fish / vegetables in, fondue style.

Lancashire is more hearty, Asian is more fun in my experience.

It's almost as if most people on this forum allow conversations to evolve naturally exactly as they should without feeling the need to lose their shit if it's a little off topic.

As I've said to footy a few times if you don't like it maybe Villatalk with it's far more aggressive moderation is a better fit for you.

You are the Alan Brazil of H&V!

If you don't like it, there's Radio 4!

Superb analogy, Paul!
I'm sorry, but we're talking about BBQs and hot-pots.  What has Alan Brazil got to do with this?

To be fair with his complexion he might well have been stuck in a BBQ for a while and he's certainly never said no to seconds when he's getting a hot pot.

I don't like the sound of 80-100 hours overtime per month but the idea of 'booze soaked after hours events' wouldn't be so bad.

Chunks instead of mince, and sliced instead of mash. Got it. Does sound nice right enough. Can I put brown sauce on it?

Think Asian hotspots are more Axl's thing, but I agree with the rest of your post.

Like in Argentina, BBQs (or churrascos) are very popular in Brazil.

I see Martinez didn't make Garth Crooks' team of the week ( or any our players!), choosing Ederson instead!
Shows what he knows, cos I cannot remember ever seeing a better goalkeeping performance than Dibu's yesterday

Who pissed you off mate?!

😂

I was slightly down about footy politely rejecting my request for a Grealish song to the tune of 'My Heart Will Go On'...

I wasn't 😀.

😂 I won't let it go....

Now there's an idea for a song title..

Stairway to Emery, haha.  Put a request in, Rory!

Blame it on the sun shine
Blame it on the moonlight
Blame it on the good times
Blame Unai Emery.

I've an idea for a chorus that may have been suggested on here I haven't checked but the following might work:

Unai, Unai, Unai ay
Unai, Unai,  Unai ay
Over the hill with swords of a thousand men.

Swords of a Thousand Men by Ten Pole Tudor.

I'll leave it to any budding Ira Gershwin to jig the lyrics and add a suitable verse.
