Our injury issue is becoming a serious problem.

And it's going to be magnified by playing so many more games this season.

What’s the betting he’ll be okay for the International break and then aggravate the calf muscle while on International duty. Nailed on isn’t it?

He’s put a picture on Instagram of his calf strapped up with an ice pack on it.

Maybe it's just all part of keeping up the lie that he was injured on Wednesday so Olsen doesn't feel bad about only getting on because Hibs were already dead.

Cruel of him to mess with Robin like this.

I pulled my calf muscle playing squash a few weeks back and it’s still not right now, so for Emi’s sake and every Villa fan out there I hope there’s nothing in it.
However I’ve got full confidence in Olsen…..

The calf is a muscle you don't notice how much you use. I had a small tear in my calf a few years ago and it took weeks to heal properly because it is virtually impossible to not flex it when trying to walk.

Yep, I did mine in early July and it's still not fully recovered.

Calf muscle problems were one of the reasons I gave up refereeing.  Every winter the left one in particular, absolute agony.

I've torn my calf twice while skiing. It's very painful and takes weeks to recover

Was in the car listening to Talksport as the teams were announced. Obviously, Emi missing. Barry Glendenning, the Irish chappy, asks if he's been dropped. He's told it's down to injury then comments he 'wouldn't have been surprised if Martinez had been dropped to be honest.' Am I missing something?

Didn't he post a picture on Twitter (sorry Elon, X) with an ice pack on his calf?

I find glendenning amusing on his podcast as he provides a fan’s perspective rather than another footballers recycled view from the dressing room.

Anyway, I’d suggest he is closer to a wind-up/ emotional pundit rather than a guy that looks deep into the stats. His eye test is probably limited to the post World Cup shenanigans.

Probably just that Glendenning is absolutely clueless.

Emery on Emi Martínez: “He trained this morning. Tomorrow is the last training [before Liverpool] which will be important if he is going to be available or not. Hopefully, yes.”
