He really is our best player isn't he? Everything goes to shit without him.

Maybe not always our best player but our most indispensable. For me, the most important signing we've made since we got promoted.

Yes, because the defence has no confidence in Olsen.

I can't imagine Emery does either. All the passing it out from the back stuff was stopped dead in it's tracks.

But he’s no Phil Parkes. ( sorry, you’re probably a bit young to know the legend that was Phil, always the best player in crap teams)

He is magnificent and today’s first half is testament to that. Commanding. Villa are weird in that we have arguably the best (and unarguably one of the best) first choice keeper in the Prem and without any doubt whatsoever by far the weakest second choice one. Without wanting to metaphorically gang bash the poor fella.

Somehow wasn’t concentrating and clicked on a YT click bait on ‘tremendous’ villa transfers. A pair of complete twats discuss Martinez may go to Spuds for £40m. Take that in for a sec.
World Cup winner
Golden boot winner
Best keeper in the prem.
How much was paid for Kepa ? £75m FIVE years ago.
Both in head up ass syndrome akin to Walsall signing Mbpappe.

There needs to be some sort of modern summary justice where twats like that get a few volts straight to the temple after chatting utter bollocks on a podcast.

An attitude adjuster, if you will.

Every time I watch Olsen I remind myself that he has won Sweden's best goalkeeper 8 years in a row. How? I know they don't have a massive population but it still blows my nut. Poor bastards. How many teams can say their keepers are both No.1's for a team ranked in the top 25? Yet the drop off is massive.

Many mocked me pre - season when I suggested a no.2 shot stopper was an absolute priority.

First thing to be sorted in the summer

They weren't mocking you Fred.

They just didn't know how to express their troubling feelings of love and animal attraction toward you.

I'm sure you get that all the time.

Real world aside, I feel sorry for Olsen. Granted, he makes a fortune for not being very good, but it's not as if he's shit on purpose.

He's clearly not good enough for where we are, and I don't think he would've been good enough for where we were 7 years ago. I'd say he knows that - or if not, he should.

It's not his fault that he's our back-up 'keeper. That's our failure. Hopefully we both move on in the summer - he can move to a club befitting his ability, and we can find a more effective replacement, a 24-pack of Skol, for example.

Martinez is genuinely a world class player. The first we had since, Platt?

You see Swedes are not keepers they are givers so I am not surprised that they don’t produce any decent keepers😉
