Well I could take it as circumstancal but the context of 3 bids is relative.
Strong interest and numerous bids indicated that the situation was tight. Then, if approved, Doug would have signed to Arsenal. How near a player can get? Not much closer than that? We can agree to differ, but at the time, on deadline day, reports indicated that Luiz was actually on the verge of leaving, and with a new contract signed with a likely relase clause then it more less confirmed this from my interpretation.
Anyhow, let's return to Martinez.

The club didn't accept the offer. Therefore, he was as close to leaving as you are to ever saying something vaguely sensible, ie, nowhere near.

Just try for one day NOT inventing madcap theories that have no grounding in reality. We can, and do, all disagree about everything to do with Villa, but nobody else invents things to the level you do.

There is no authority outside of the mods and the rules, and your assertions are actually just founded on more interpretation.
You or other dissenters will only find me sensible if what I say makes sense in the context of your own stories.
Otherwise, it's branded as crazy, which is unfair because it casts scorn on attempts to discuss and debate subjects that ok maybe not everyone but some may want to consider.

Furthermore its interesting when everyone is giving varied opinions and want to discuss whatever they want without feeling pushed around or given a sense to be ridiculed. Ok I'm an idealist.

Back to Martinez. I think Unai does not have full confidence in him and that's why he often has 2 goalies on the bench!! Martinez is a maverick, likely to be booked or sent off at any time and Unai wants more back up in this specialist position.

Martinez is a great shot stopper, has presence but if his style of play doesn't improve and meet Unai's preferred style, I think we should cash in asap.

I'm with eamonn.  Every so often there seems to be some kind of pile-on with our Footy, I'm not sure it's useful or necessary.  I know some of his opinions/theories are a bit out there - but if you're not allowed a blatantly flawed view of the football club you support, then ...
