He’s a decent keeper but I’m not sure he’s quite as good as a lot of people (himself included?) seem to think. It’s not that difficult to recruit a good goalkeeper compared to how rare top strikers are, for example. If he goes it’ll be a bit sad but not the end of the world.

Well between them Nyland and Olsen are experienced big league keepers with 105 internationals caps combined yet we all see the gulf when those two played for us in last few years.

I'm not convinced replacing a keeper with Emi's match winning quality (people will say he hasn't played that well recently but that close range save v Leeds is not a save many in this league could do and it helped us win a tight game) will be as easy as people say.

Reeks a bit of "let's just replace Grealish with 3-4 players over the pitch" and 18 months on Ings has already been and gone and Bailey and Buendia are still incredibly hit and miss.

Exactly it’s nonsense and quality keepers are not that easy to find. I predict we would massively struggle if we decide he’s one that needs to be replaced. He is one of very few players that is legitimately high quality.

Yeah, his distribution was piss poor and in the modern game that is frowned upon. I can see that being a big problem for Emery.

Someone with probably suggest the Leeds keeper before too long, have a look at the goal he conceded today due to terrible positioning and he lets in plenty of soft goals.

Dean Henderson wouldn't be a bad shout. Made a good impact at Forest and Sheffield United had a brilliant defensive record in prem the season he was there. He has no future at Man. United to put it mildly.

Given the Spanish keeping coach I imagine we'll look to someone in La Liga though.

Given UE is calling out Emi in interviews for not following instructions that dosen't bode well imo.

Without sounding like a conspiracist but I wonder if that interview in the French press talking about winning honours elsewhere and then disappearing into the oppositions box without permission didn’t help Emery’s reaction straight after the match.

Martinez needs to realise that saving couple of pens from very nervous takers in a final doesn’t make you a good keeper. He has been terrible recently. Crap at his main job and embarrassing with his other antics.

The time wasting gets on my tits buts he’s been okay other than that.  Two freak goals today were hardly his fault.

Sorry for the final goal, which was obviously his fault because he decided to be up for a corner and was miles away from the goal.
11 goals conceded in three games.

Digne didn't even look to play the set piece near him, and I'm sure some of the other players weren't thrilled with him being up there for the corner.
Ego got the better of him

Doesn’t mean it’s right in terms of impact. It might be against the manager’s wishes, but on this I think the manager is wrong. It’s a punt when all is pretty much lost - what’s the harm? We’re going to lose anyway, does the risk of running up the other end and scoring make much difference? Can’t see it does. I don’t think it’s ego either, it’s probably wanting to atone.
