There's an awful lot of making stuff up going on here. People seem to have completely ignored the bit where he says he wants to win a trophy with the Villa.
As Risso has stated their Chairman said we didn't make an offer and we can pontificate all day around ifs and buts BUT we did not make an offer to tempt them to sell. That's the crux of it. Once again we are NOT striking whilst the iron is hot.
Bottom line is no one is bigger than the club - if he wants to go let him.

Do you think the same will happen with Emery? Because I don't believe it for a second. We look like we're trying to play football, and that we know how to do it. Emery is a great manager, potentially the best we've had in 20 years. But he's not a miracle worker, and even if he gets say 20-30% more out of the curent crop of players, that's still only really going to see us around the mid table places. Even with how good he is, he's bollocksed up both cup games horribly, and now he's giving it the old "our only remit is to stay up" nonsense, so he's got plenty to do yet to prove his mettle.

Of course you have to try and improve all the time but I don't see the point in just buying anybody. I get the feeling that's not how Emery would want it anyway. And like I said, I doubt very very much Martinez will choose whether to leave based on last month's transfer window, which you keep bringing up.

Oh yes keep repeating what we have been doing since 1990's and achieve fuck all of nothing. Spurs didn't let Kane go Manu stopped de Gea when he wanted to join RM, Chelsea stopped Kepa from leaving, even Brighton stopped Caicedo.
But...but we will be the ONLY club looking for players in the summer...honest. Jan is difficult you can't get anyone in, that's why Chelsea 8, Forest 8, Wolves 6, Bournemouth 6 have only managed to get so few.
