Cult hero how about you focus how accurate that was eh!

If you backpedal any faster you’ll wake up in the 80’s.

Avoid the truth all you like. But its clear that I'm able to give a balanced assessment pros and cons of our players and what ties in with my values Up the Villa.

Best keeper we’ve had since Bozzie
I'd put him ahead of bozzie, personally, just needs to have a cup to his name with us and I'd say that for certain. Rimmer was before my time so not sure where he'd stand in the all time list
Brad Friedel?

I'd still put Rimmer before them both but it's a different game now.

I think Bosnich is still slightly ahead to be honest, as good as Emi is. Bosnich did it over a lot longer period, and some of his displays such as away at Sunderland in the League Cup were the best I’ve ever seen. I think Bossie was a better shot stopper than Emi overall. Some of his saves were bordering on the miraculous.

You’re right Bosnich was a great shot stopper but Emi has the better all round game I reckon. He dominates his area and intimidates opponents in a way I haven’t see before.

It might be sacrilegious for some but he’s the best keeper we have ever had. In terms of ability he has absolutely everything. And his attitude is superb and loves being here. You could see that at the end of the game as he gathered players and embraced them. He’s a proper leader too. Oh and by the way he’s won Copa America and the World Cup. I heard those are decent trophies to pick up.

I agree with you. There might have been better at reflex saves, distribution, awareness etc but none spring to mind readily. In any case, no keeper in our history has Martinez’s presence or influence on games or the team as a whole. He does the things in a game at the right time that show control.

I love Emi, and Emery clearly does, which is why he didn't drop him as was predicted.

Bossie made saves that nobody else could make. He was so athletic but he wasn't as dominant on crosses etc.

Martinez seems to have it all. He's rapidly becoming my favourite player.

It’s all about opinions, but I’ve never got all the hype over Bosnich.

Yes, he was certainly good, and made some unbelievable saves, but, imo, Rimmer and Spink were better, and so is Martinez

For me Bosnich was a better version of Burridge. A flamboyant crowd pleaser.

His save at 1-0 was absolutely world class.

It was great instincts/reflex but the shot went towards him instead of nearer the post so I'd have been disappointed if he hadn't got it.

You also said Olsen would become first choice.

And he was. For Wulfs/Spudz/Stevenage. Footy won the argument, remember?

Rimmer still first, espeically as he was doing it at a time when keepers didn't have gloves the size of foam hands. He was doing it bare handed and then with those little green gloves with bits of rubber on them.

Bosnich’s private video collection is also more interesting
