According to John McGinn when he had a fairly long interview on Sky before kick off, Emi doesn't drink at all, so the comments about him being worse for wear after the Wold Cup aren't true.

Showed his class tonight. We’d have lost that with most goalkeepers in the world playing tonight.

You've been more critical of him than any other Villa fan I know. Or at least, one of the posters on the Footy Vill account has.

He is fucking great.

Apart from his obvious goalkeeping quality, he adds swagger, arrogance and self belief.

I fucking love him.

It would have been interesting to see inside the penalty takers head with Emi in front of him

I've given a balance assessment actually
But some just like to change the narrative.
I've stated I didn't like his antics and I'm weary of him losing humility
I was the first to say he should be made captain this summer.
I said he would win the World Cup and when we signed him I told everyone he would be a cult hero.

So you two be quiet! And lets all just get on shall we! Don't know why I get hounded on things people disagree with yet not acknowledged for foresight.  Anyway. He's adored by us all just don't want those silly yellow cards.

Arsenal fans are gutted but have been very gracious in wishing him and us well.

6ft 5 too. *punches the like button”

This guy has real integrity and honesty about him
Real love for the arsenal fans and really respects his profession I think he's wonderful and has real passion for football. I feel his emotions.

Has done a superb exit interview to the arsenal fans as well as mentioning how hard he worked to get where he is .

I can't wait for the first interview for Villa I promise you he'll touch everyone hearts.
He's going to be a cult hero and take to out hearts .

He loves the arsenal fans and they love him and ⅖3who he said came as a boy from Argentina and left a man .

Trust me he's going to be adored by all of us.

Best keeper we’ve had since Bozzie
I'd put him ahead of bozzie, personally, just needs to have a cup to his name with us and I'd say that for certain. Rimmer was before my time so not sure where he'd stand in the all time list

It might be sacrilegious for some but he’s the best keeper we have ever had. In terms of ability he has absolutely everything. And his attitude is superb and loves being here. You could see that at the end of the game as he gathered players and embraced them. He’s a proper leader too. Oh and by the way he’s won Copa America and the World Cup. I heard those are decent trophies to pick up.

I think Bosnich is still slightly ahead to be honest, as good as Emi is. Bosnich did it over a lot longer period, and some of his displays such as away at Sunderland in the League Cup were the best I’ve ever seen. I think Bossie was a better shot stopper than Emi overall. Some of his saves were bordering on the miraculous.
