We'll get a Grealish-like fee, way above his true market value.
He hasn't been as good lately as last season.
Decent chance he would like to move to a Champions League club.
Some chance he and Emery might not have the greatest relationship.

Makes sense all round.
It doesn't make sense all round.

All great teams need a great keeper.  It's a very difficult part of the jigsaw to get right - look at the keepers we've been through in the last 10 years.

Emi is happy we've revived his career.  He's fiercely competitive and wants to win, but he's also loyal and likes it at Villa and knows he'll be undisputed No1 for the forseeable future.  We've been good for eachother and he can see we're building something.  I think he'll stay for a few more years.
So you have spoken with him then?
When are you next meeting up ?

wtf is that supposed to mean?  He's said he's happy a Villa a number of times.  The rest is in plain sight.  No need to be obtuse.

Emi could be about to lift the World Cup. We can't take credit for that, but we've played a big part in getting him to where he needed to be to start that journey. I don't think he's going to immediately jump ship just because he's got a World Cup medal and higher profile.

The best players often leave mid-table teams because they don't want to spend a career and not win anything. He's already got He might have both top international trophies and an FA Cup to his name. He really only needs a league title and the Champions league and he's got the set. He's got the rest of his career to do that so I don't think he'll be in a massive hurry to kick on unless he felt we weren't going anywhere or helping him develop.

Edit: oooops!

Fuck off Chicago, you're acting like a right prick.  It's a forum about opinions.  All I've said is he's happy at Villa which he's said himself a number of times.  Why are you going off on one about that?

I am not going off on one. You have made statements that only someone close to the player could make.
Then you have had a complete sense of humour failure and been abusive.
You are very sad.
