I’m looking forward to the last few minutes of the final vs France where Emi takes a yellow card killing off time. Then pulls of some sort of heroic save in the 14th minute of time added on to win it for his country. Hip thrusts, waving the middle finger, calling Van Gaal a wanker, maximum shithousery.

Then throws the ball out for a throw and drops to the floor rubbing his ankle.

Yes. It can bring a man to tears. And we have learnt not to mock that too. :-)

😢

You big French girl.
I might have a quiet sob now.

If a Utd player did that at Villa Park, you’d be baying for a red. Get real

Get real, we'd do that for any non-Villa player. And if a Villa player did it, we'd be cheering them to the rafters.

I’m not so sure, mate.
It would depend on who it was, and if they’re flavour of the month.
At the moment if Emi did it, cheers all round.
If McGinn did it, he’d be a w**ker and should receive a red

When Gabby did it into the noses section at VP it received and rightly so sumptuous applause.

I vaguely remember reading about a player who booted it into the FA Cup. The home team had been parading it around and put it on display at the side of the pitch for the match, so the opposing team took delight in trying to blast it off its perch.

I can't for the life of me remember who it was.

Love him but it would be best to cash in now.

What? Why don’t we just sell all our best players and play in the Championship. Just accept our place in the food chain. What a defeatist attitude.

If you think you are Bob, it's best to get yourself checked out, could lead to something nasty.

We'll get a Grealish-like fee, way above his true market value.
He hasn't been as good lately as last season.
Decent chance he would like to move to a Champions League club.
Some chance he and Emery might not have the greatest relationship.

Makes sense all round.

It makes no sense whatsoever. You don't improve by selling your best players. He could be our keeper for most of the 2020s, and will hopefully have plenty of silverware and a place in Villa legend to look back on when he retires.

Unfortunately he's borderline Villa legend already and he ain't won shit with us. Think he'd rather have more trophies in the bag which I am sure he will think he has a better chance of elsewhere. That, along with the other things, means it makes plenty of sense.

As far as I know, AVFC at least, still have to comply with FFP, so all the more reason to move him on.

It doesn't make sense all round.

All great teams need a great keeper.  It's a very difficult part of the jigsaw to get right - look at the keepers we've been through in the last 10 years.

Emi is happy we've revived his career.  He's fiercely competitive and wants to win, but he's also loyal and likes it at Villa and knows he'll be undisputed No1 for the forseeable future.  We've been good for eachother and he can see we're building something.  I think he'll stay for a few more years.
