It certainly was. He's capable of it all.
The one ball he played was fantastic.
Further to Risso comments and also having seen the above.
It's a duty to me to raise the concern and that Emery would no doubt identify a weakness from Martinez who is an excellent goal keeper but has a clear weakness in his ability and efficiency in passing the ball. It's lacking for top level and how we will be playing under Emery
Firstly in agreement:
Martinez's play with the ball against Brentford was excellent, but it was the exception.
But to play out from the back and those who suggest he can pass a ball and kick well. And have made outlandish comments I debate this strongly and put it he will be needed to improve that area as he generally and quality and super keeper in other aspects
Are you putting Martinez on par with Barcelona's Ter Stegen and German great Manuel Nauer?
How about the class of Brazil? He is nowhere near the accuracy or distribution level of Ederson or Alison. These are the Man City and Liverpool goalkeepers.
My opinion is that even the English international goalkeepers are superior to EM because he lacks Ramsdale or Pickford's distance or overall accuracy.
Or even set up attacks using throws like England squad goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who he is adept at passing the ball though mixed he gets the ball out far quicker for forest.
Martinez's play with the ball against Brentford was excellent, but it was the exception.
Martinez's sloppy and generally one dimensional passing from goal kicks, and his hurried or poor passing to the defenders are my main concerns. And will be Emerys.
I've seen both Brazilian keepers distribution numerous times, and they have made an odd error but Martinez has his work cut out in getting the ball out to Mings and the other defenders as for me I don't find his passing range both long and short as good as the rest of his amazing goal keeping abilities.
A goalkeeper must be skilled with his feet, so a new goalkeeping coach will either concentrate on helping the player learn and adjust or we will bring someone who can so we can play out from the back.
