Just watched the Emi meets Bozzie video on Pravda. I live for that kind of stuff. Emi comes across as a gentleman and was heart warming seeing Bozzie talk about 92/93 and the league cup wins. Came across as very proud of it.

Must be the first time he's admitted playing for Villa since the nineties.

Martinez's professionalism and winning attitude make him the captain in my eyes at times this coming season
Overall, I see Martinez as the captain, which I have advocated for.
According to Gerrard, being captain does not guarantee inclusion in the team, and McGinn will have to meet the required consistent standards to improve his play and will be suspended, subbed, rotated, and injured over the course of the season.

He's vice-captain.

Exactly. And he'll be a more consistent performer than McGinn or Mings.
He could also be a world cup winner.
If we're not careful we lose him so I think he should really be given the honour ahead of the rest. He has to be the best player along with Coutinho in the squad.

Gerrard might prefer an outfield captain too.

Captains are more often than not defenders or midfielders. You get the odd goalie or striker, but mostly managers seem to prefer players who are more centrally involved.

In these days where  - supposedly - only captains can speak to the ref, a goalkeeper is not a tenable captain.

Didn't seem to be a problem for Kasper Schmeichel.

He still found time to have a go at refs and argue with them.

Why do we need to be careful about losing him? Frankly, you are losing me.
