When we signed him I remember thinking “what’s the point in signing him when we have Tom Heaton?”
To be fair, when we signed him, I had never heard of him (like most of our signings). I thought it was good that Arse wanted to keep him, but he came anyway. Then he saved a pen on his debut and the rest is history. Players like him, ollie, mings, konsa etc show that anything is possible at Aston Villa. Its also testiment to people like Neil Cutler who played a big part in bringing him here and getting him to where he is. Over the last 5 years, by and large, we have had a lot of people who have done this club proud and we wouldnt be where we are today without them.

We need to win something with him now.
In my 55 years of following the Villa, it's only the second time that I've been able to look at the teamsheet and genuinely think that we've got the best player in world in his given position. The other time was when we had Paul McGrath.
